Chloe yawned and flopped in bed. Julia laughed and pulled the covers over her.
"Good night, Chloe. I love you," Julia smiled.
"Love you too, mommy," Chloe smiled back before closing her eyes.
Julia smiled and walked out, turning off the light and shutting the door before heading to bed too. Chloe fell asleep and her mind began to wander...

"Chloe."
Chloe looked around, confused, but all she saw was darkness. "Hello?"
"Chloe."
Chloe began walking towards the voice. "I'm here... Who's there?"
"Chloe!"
She walked and then she realized bright light was coming from behind her. She turned and had to shield her eyes from the awesome glow from the woman until her eyes adjusted.
"Who are you...?" Chloe asked.
"I was a guardian... It's been a long time, you know. I was waiting for the right person..."
"Wow! Really? Hey wait... My auntie is a guardian too, I think."
The woman of light smiled. "She is."
"Cool! Well, I'm Chloe. Who are you?"
"My name is Sadia."
"That's a pretty name! Nice to meet you. So... Why are you talking to me? I'm not very important. Maybe you meant to talk to my parents? Or Cadia?"
"I meant to talk to you, kiddo. Wait... You mean Arcadia? We were friends once. Of course, I was the normal one, but when I met her and we became friends, I became a guardian. You see... Arcadia and her siblings protect earth. And there are others who protect the other planets, I believe. But for some reason... Some of us normal people get chosen to help from time to time. Chloe... You have shown such great love for others - whether dragons, aliens, or ancients with amazing power. I would like to offer you to take my place. It's been empty for a long time and I believe you should become the next guardian."
Chloe's eyes widened. "You worked with 'Cadia? You were friends?!"
"Yes, I did and yes... We were," she smiled sadly. "But one day, I had to leave her. I hated to hurt her like that, but... Well... I didn't have a choice."
Chloe frowned. "That's sad... I'm sorry."
"It's okay. The past can't be undone. Anyways... I think you shine with potential... Will you carry out my guardian duties?"
"How do you know I can do it...?"
Sadia smiled. "You touched Hayes without being burnt. Not only that... You hugged him. You've forged relationships with all four of them and made friends with the aliens." She paused for a moment. "A normal person would be burnt by touching Hayes, Chloe. But you had potential. You could do so much more... What do you say?"
Chloe thought for a moment. "Would mommy and daddy be okay with this?"
Sadia smiled. "I'm sure they'd be proud of you if you explain... If not, Valentina would be able to explain. She's a guardian too."
Chloe took a deep breath. "Okay... I'll do it!"
Sadia smiled. "Good choice."
The light became blinding, surrounding her.

Chloe sat up abruptly. The room was lit up completely. She looked around in confusion before realizing the glow came from her.
"Uhhh...how do I make glowing stop... Wait. I... That's so..."
She trailed off and glanced at the time. It was 2 am, but she didn't feel tired at all anymore. Chloe stood.
"Sooo... What exactly can I do with this?"
The glow brightened for a moment then slowly faded away.
"Well, at least I'm not glowing anymore..." Chloe commented.
Chloe thought over what Sadia had said and realized she'd finally get to help Cadia more! She thought about Cadia and then she was suddenly in her house. Her eyes widened then she thought about Clem and the same thing happened. She thought about Soren next and she was in the sky. Finally, she thought about Hayes and was in his volcano.
"Whoa..." she whispered quietly.
She thought about home and she was back. Shocked from what happened, she ran back into bed and tried to go back to sleep, shaking slightly from shock. Maybe it was just a dream...

Sadia watched. She remembered her first day as a guardian too... In the many galaxies, power really wasn't that uncommon. But earth had remained so ignorant that when she herself had become a guardian, it was a bit of a shock. It seemed to be the same thing for Chloe... But hopefully, she'd get used to it soon enough. After all, Chloe had desperately wanted to be like Valentina and/or Arcadia. Now, she had a part to play too, just like she had wanted.
