Ever since Jacob shoved Rylee out of his mind...
Well...
No one had ever done that...
Now her head throbbed. She was aware, though unconscious. She remembered that much, but... Why was she in Jacob's head? And why would he do that?
She began to piece together the fairly recent memory and she struggled to regain consciousness. No no no no no... Jacob was trapped. She couldn't let this happen again when she could just stop it... Jacob had been supressed. It was like some weird instinct came out of him to destroy. It was that woman and then-
Focus!
Wake up wake up wake up!!!
She needed to explain. She thrashed in her mind like she was trying to escape a cage. But alas... She was stuck in her mind. Normally she was able to hear people speaking to her, but she heard nothing. She was cut off from Jacob... No no no...
He would never.
She imagined him sobbing on the inside as what he worked so, so hard to hide and keep down from the surface was finally revealed to the world...  He was a...a monster. To himself. And the worst thing that could've happened was to make him act like that.
Rylee hoped the officials didn't do anything too crazy... He was invincible. What good would it do?
No...
Jacob needed to be snapped out of it. How could she do that if she was trapped inside her mind? Though she had a feeling Aspen would handle it. Still, being stressed about not being aware of everything, Rylee took a deep breath and sat down on an imagined couch.
"I'm sorry I'm not strong enough..." Rylee whispered, though alone. Her voice strong enough for the words she was about to say. She hesitated then sighed. "All this time... I was so mad at you... Later I was mainly upset... For failing me... For failing us." She allowed tears to slip down her cheeks - well, in her consciousnss, which she often treated like a second home. "But Charles... I'm the one who has always failed you."
Saying the words 'aloud' made them sting sharp and feel more real as guilt weighed her down. She could've stopped this...she could've stopped the funeral from happening all those years ago... But Rylee wasn't strong enough.
