AU Brooke's Secrets

Brooke had immediately buried the pain from finding out about her parents. She didn't say anything and she pretended like everything was fine...and it wasn't fine.

Her mother had died and her father used her for experiments once her powers showed up. Sure, Charles might have saved her from that, but... He did the same thing. He took her somewhere - at least it was safe - and left her there to doctors, scientists, and guards.

While she appreciated it and letting her stay, she couldn't help but feel unwanted and unloved. Her mom might have loved her... But she was gone. Her father was the reason she got taken away... And then she spent 7 years of her life without any friends, anyone who cared about her... Except Charles visited occasionally and did some paperwork... But for the most part, no one cared about her.

No one raised her, she was only told what she shouldn't do, she was always asked to run as fast as she could, she was-

The list went on. She went from becoming one guinea pig to being another. What was the difference? Honestly...

At least she had her Rylee. When she was 7, she met the most important person in her life thus far - Rylee Kristen Johnson. She had been her first friend. The only one who ever cared.

She only wished she wouldn't have been a baby that was dumped off at some facility. That wasn't 'caring' to her. She craved a parently relationship and it crushed her.

In her own eyes, she figured that she was nothing. At all. Useless, worthless, annoying-

It's worth noting that when she got to this point and Rylee was nearby, Rylee usually intervened. Brooke immediately changed the subject and refused to talk about what Rylee already knew she was thinking.
