AU Ginger's Story Part 2

She picked up Trey for his lunch break at school and took him to a coffee shop. Of course, she couldn't have coffee, so she just had hot chocolate. But Trey got a medium coffee because he was tired and liked coffee, even though he was 12. Though he was pretty mature for a 12 year old...
"Where's Ray?" Trey asked, making a face at the mention of him.
"That's...um...that's kinda why I'm here..." Ginger said, frowning and looking away.
Trey's eyes widened. "Did he hurt you?"
"In what way?" Ginger asked slowly.
"Taking that as a yes... What happened?" Trey asked.
Ginger took a deep breath and explained everything. When she finished, Trey was fuming.
Trey popped his knuckles. "I'm going to destroy him..."
"Please just stay with me... You're 12. You don't stand a chance," Ginger replied.
Trey frowned. "Fiiiineee... When I get older can I beat him up?"
Ginger facepalmed.
Suddenly, Trey realized her other point and grinned. "I'm going to be a cousin-uncle!!!"
"Yep," she smiled sadly. "At least you're excited."
Trey frowned and hugged his cousin. "I'm sorry, Ginger... Hey, I heard mom and dad talking about this 'crazy power lady' named Nina! She's mom's cousin and that makes you her niece!"
Ginger looked down at the 12 year old. "Really? Do you think she's nice...?"
"Yep! That's why mom doesn't like her," he replied.
Ginger laughed and shook her head. "I think our family's insane."
Trey nodded. "Except us! Wait, so...are you gonna get divorced?"
Ginger frowned and nodded. "I think so..."
"YES!" Trey yelled.
Ginger blinked a few times then stared. "I'm sorry... What...?"
He cleared his throat. "Sorry...um... I never liked him."
Ginger laughed. "You're so funny. And cute. I hope Rex is a bit like you."
"Me too! And I bet Kari will be beautiful like you!" Trey replied.
She smiled and then looked at the clock. "Oh my goodness! It's almost time for your class!! Let's go!"
She grabbed his arm and ran out. He grabbed his coffee before being dragged out by his cousin. She immediately drove off to school with her cousin sitting beside her in the front seat.

After Ginger barely dropped him off in time, she drove off towards her - apparently - Aunt Nina's house. She had heard about Charles and Nina Prince, but didn't know they were her aunt and uncle. She knew she found their house when she saw it. She also noticed a house for sale beside them for a considerable chunk of money...

She looked between their house and the house a few times then decided she'd rather avoid introducing herself for a bit longer, but also wanted to be close to her aunt.

So, she drove to the real estate offices and bought the property. Apparently, it was already furnished too. She might replace and add things later, but for now... She was exhausted. She drove to the new house, parked, threw the for sale sign in the trash, and walked inside her new house.

All this because she was a wimp...

She mentally told herself to be quiet and headed upstairs to sleep.
