Brooke trudged inside and plopped on the couch, huffing in annoyance. She was still mad from her disagreement with Charles, so she just boycotted her powers since 'he was soo right.'
Charlotte poked her head in, watching Brooke for a moment. She still had questions about what she meant during her argument with Charles. What did Brooke mean by, 'what are you going to do? Lock me up again?'
Charlotte walked in and sat beside Brooke. "Hey Brooke...?"
"Hi Char," Brooke said, unable to be mad at the small child.
"What were you talking about with the being locked up again thing?" Charlotte asked, unable to hold the question inside.
Brooke blinked a few times. She briefly debated not telling her, but then she huffed, remembering the argument.
Brooke sat up and crossed her arms. "Well, a long time ago, when Charles found out I had powers, he took me from my jerk parents and put me in a facility since I was so fast. I was there since I was really little until not too long ago. He's my legal guardian or whatever, so yeah. But he locked us up in some facility for a while. He probably would've put you there too, but he randomly decided to let us out, so good for us, I guess-"
Charlotte's eyes were immensely wide at this point and she got up and ran outside.
Brooke blinked a few times. "...Oops... NINA! I might've scared Charlotte and made her run away! But I'm not a mind reader. ...But if I was, SOMEONE wouldn't want me to use THAT EITHER!" She coughed. "CHARLES." She coughed again then stomped upstairs, still annoyed at him.Charlotte was sitting out in the backyard, making the once well maintained grass be overgrown to hide her somewhere within the large area. She was afraid. Brooke said he probably would've locked her up too... The thought made her shiver. Her parents didn't like her powers as it was, but she didn't want to be locked up either. Were they pretending to be nice to her? Aspen had brushed off Brooke's comment before... Was she lying to her this entire time? Was she just being played? She began to cry quietly, worried. She should've known not to trust anyone...
Brooke was still sulking grumpily, oblivious to what she had done and her pettiness. She was also oblivious that Charles had just lost his brother and sister-in-law.
The only other thing we can say for Brooke is that she is immensely lucky Rylee's mindreading hasn't fully returned or Brooke would have to deal with an angry Rylee...and you wouldn't like her when she's angry.
