Jacob woke up later that day and sat up quickly, breathing heavily. "Was...was it just a dream...?"
He looked down at his hands and hesitantly flicked his nightside table. Nothing happened. He stood and flicked the lamp hesitantly, but he only heard a ring from the metal. He grinned and ran out to the kitchen, squeezing a spoon tightly for several seconds then letting go. His eyes widened. It was okay!! He then knew the ultimate test... He ran outside the house and knocked on the door lightly. Nothing happened to the door, so he knocked harder and harder until he was banging on the door. He then giggled like a child, running inside. He punched the couch, threw spoons... He was so happy. Suddenly, he groaned, holding his heart. "Ow..."
Val appeared. "I'm sorry... Your body needs time to adjust to being normal. You seem to be loving it though."
She smiled and laughed, raising an eyebrow as she surveyed his 'tests.'
Jacob smiled sheepishly. "Yeah... I couldn't believe it at first, and I kinda made a mess..."
Val snapped her fingers and his mess was clean again. "There. Is this what you wanted, Jake?"
Jacob grinned and nodded. "Yes... Thank you so much..."
Val smiled slightly. "You're welcome... Maybe this would be a good chance for you to do things you always wanted to? I'll be watching and I'll let almost anything you desire come to pass."
She gave him a smile. Jacob grinned and then his eyes widened.
"Where are the kids??" Jacob said in panic, looking around.
"Relax, they're with Aspen's parents. Go... Enjoy yourself, Jacob," Val assured him, disappearing.
Jacob left a note saying how he'd be gone for a while and then left. He had never felt so free... He did so many things he had always wanted to do. Val fulfilled his wants as a gift. She never meant to give him something he never wanted...something that caused him so much misery...so, she decided she would make it up to him.
Jacob visited places he had always wanted to go, he rode rides for the young and for adults, and he watched shows and made friends. He played sports, he did crafts, and so much more. Val made it up so much to him, that he officially had a new favorite time of his life. His life finally wasn't just empty, so at the end of Val sponsoring his world adventure, he was happy to go back home and be with his family. He finally felt like he had lived his life, and he couldn't wait to take care of his kids more and more as they grew up. He loved his family so much... He never fully realized that they made his world go around until he went around the world.
