Ginger and Ray worked together, almost like they were still married, for a few months. But when it came down to it...

"Hey um... Ginger?" Ray said.
"Yeeeesss?" Ginger asked, setting Rex down next to Kari for his nap.
Ray and Ginger walked downstairs and sat on the couch.
"I really wanted to help. I took a while of my semester of college off... But I need to go back now. You've got Nina and Aspen though, so... You'll be fine, right?" Ray asked.
Ginger frowned and looked down. "Oh..."
Ray kissed her head and hugged her close. "I'll be here some, maybe on the weekend, but not nearly as much... I'm sorry. I hope that's okay?"
"You've been wanting this degree forever, Ray. Go for it..." Ginger said through a forced smile.
"Ginger..." Ray frowned. "I'm sorry you had them so young-"
"Don't apologize to me about my kids," Ginger said, crossing her arms. "I love them...so, so much. I'd do anything for them."
"Ginger... If you still..." he paused then changed his wording. "You could come move back in with me and we can be married again. I love you. We could have another baby and have a family..."
Ginger bit her lip and looked down. "Ray... I appreciate you and thanks for everything, but... I don't want to get married to you again. At least...not now. I like living next to my aunt and cousins. I like not being in college."
Ray frowned, but nodded. "Okay, but... Can I at least have a last kiss?"
Ginger looked at him for a moment then nodded. Ray leaned closer and kissed her. She kissed back and then they both pulled away.
"Well, I have classes tomorrow... I'll see you guys soon, Ginger," Ray smiled and stood, walking out.
Ginger touched her lips. His kisses were once so magical... All of that magic had run out. Her love for him was gone. It was an empty space inside her, but their friendship... She didn't mind that. She liked him being in the twins life... She just didn't want to be married to him anymore. Either way... That kiss was the closure to the relationship they once had. Now they were friends.
