OCs 2 - the Sequel

Teresa

Teresa lived among the people of Rybrospo. No one knew who she really was and she liked it that way. No one ever questioned her age because no one ever really grew old. All they knew about Teresa was that she was very old - one of the oldest Rybrospos.

When Valentina was born, she knew before the Prime did at the ceremony. She could feel it. When Valentina was born, when they left her in her crib for the night, Teresa went to meet the guardian baby. She picked up Valentina, smiling, and held the baby closely.
"Hi there, partner," Teresa smiled. "You're adorable. Welcome to my world... I trust you'll help me take care of it. I know you'll do great things."
Valentina looked up at her and babbled quietly before yawning.
"I'll see you soon, Valentina," Teresa stated, setting her back down carefully. "Sleep well, kiddo."
Valentina fell asleep and Teresa teleported away.

The next day at Valentina's dedication, Teresa watched with a smile as the Prime realized she was a guardian. All the born Guardians had black eyes. Teresa frowned at the response the announcement was given, glancing over at Cadence, who was frowning slightly. These people could be so ignorant sometimes... Yet they were still her duty.

That night, Teresa thought over her promise.

I'll watch over this planet until my dying breath. I will guard and protect the planet and its people. And if the planet goes down, I with it like a ship with its captain.

Teresa began offering to babysit Valentina, who immediately warmed up to her. The other kids loved her too - even Ian. Little did they know who she was. No one ever knew.

Teresa had become like an aunt to Val and her siblings. When she was a bit older, she finally told Val the truth and what it involved. Val was originally happy to help, but she had a hard time managing her strength. As a result, people feared her.

After the incident with Nate and Ian, she hid herself under a fake her and the council gave her a limiting crystal of rybrospon, which kept her under control. Teresa was furious they gave her a limiter, but she didn't intervene. Val seemed happier this way, she supposed.

Val was given her orders; she had to destroy Rybrospo. The people would flee into the galaxy with crystals of rybrospon to maintain themselves, but the planet would be gone to avoid it falling into the hands of the Empire.

Val teleported to her home and knocked, eyes wide, before just walking in. "Teresa! I...they...what are you going to do?!"
"Whoa whoa whoa. Calm down and tell me what's wrong, kiddo," Teresa said, turning to her.
"I have to destroy the planet... I... Apparently, we're leaving. I was given orders... I'm sorry... You'll come too though, of course, but I'm sorry about the planet..."
Teresa was quiet for a moment before smiling slightly and shaking her head. "I made a promise, Valentina. You know this... But it's okay... It's been so long anyway... They don't need me anymore. They have you...and the masters, prime..."
Val frowned. "But-"
"No but's, Val. Do what you must, but I'm not leaving. I made my promise. ...I'll miss you."
Teresa pulled Val into a hug.
Val blinked a few times, hugging back, then pulled away. "But what if we told them who you are?! You could defeat the Empire!!"
"I cannot interfere," Teresa shook her head. "It wouldn't be right. It's okay, Val. You need to go, alright? I knew this day was coming... When you were born, I saw a vision of this day. It's alright. Now go... Do what you must."
Val teared up and hugged her tightly. Teresa returned her hug, mentally preparing herself for what was coming.
Val pulled away and frowned. "I'll always remember you."
"Me too."
Val sniffed and teleported away.

The evacuation continued and once everyone except Teresa was in space, the council controlled her limiter, making Val use her power to destroy. With tears in her eyes, she destroyed the planet with her dark powers. That day she was called Valentina - the Destroyer.

Teresa stood there, watching it all be consumed. She just smiled sadly and looked up at the sky.
"My promise is complete..."
She fell to her knees and held her arms out to either side, looking up as the destruction rained around her.

Last of all, she consumed the planet into a black hole. The council then put her back in limited mode. Val ran off to be alone, crying. Why did she have to do this? Why did they make her?! Why was this the only way?!
