Julia dropped Chloe back off at school just in time for the lunch break to be over then drove over to Casey's. She walked over and knocked, wiping away a few tears. Casey opened the door, initially looking irritated and then once she realizes who it is, frowns at her tears and hugs her.
"What's wrong, Julia?" Casey asked.
Julia sighed and hugged back. "I feel stupid and-"
Casey shook her head, pulling away. "First things first, you are one of the smartest people I know, Julia Prince. So don't even. Second of all, let's sit down and talk."
Julia sniffed and nodded. They walked into the living room and sat down.
Julia pouted and continued, "Anyways... I finally told Steven I couldn't work and I feel bad, but I feel so sick and... I don't know. I just shouldn't? And...um... I went to visit him for lunch and he just made me sad and got on my nerves, but he looked so attractive while he did it..."
Casey smiled slightly. "Someone's moody."
"What's up with you?" Julia shrugged.
Casey sighed and stood, beginning to pace back and forth in front of Julia. "I'm bored. Being a successful CEO isn't enough, Julia. I know you hate hearing that, but it's not. I need more to do. My brain has so much going on, but I've been alive for a while so I'm running out. Being a mom, wife, and CEO isn't enough... No no no... I need more. But what else could I do? What challenge can I tackle? It's not enough. Project CASS was a 'success,' but what am I supposed to do with my extra processing power and speed?"
Julia blinked. "Uh...read?"
Casey blinked a few times, stopping, then smiled. "Not a half bad idea... That's what I'll do. I'll read everything I can. Compete for the most books read and make my record so high it's untouchable for at least a long time. And maybe I'll start another company too... That should keep me busy."
"I just want to be with him...all the time..." Julia sighed, spaced out.
"Steven?" Casey asked.
Julia nodded then sighed. "I wish that was possible... But it's not."
"I could invent time travel?" Casey suggested.
Julia laughed and shook her head. "You're something."
"So are you," Casey agreed.
They both exchanged a smile and kept talking for a long time.
