Jacob sighed, making snacks for Sophia for when she got back from school while Connor was napping. He accidently broke a spoon and huffed, chucking it at the floor in frusteratuon, which went through to the basement. Jacob's eyes widened and then he just sighed heavily.
"I hate this stupid power! I'll never be able to control it!" Jacob cried, sitting in the floor and lowering his head.
Val appeared and mended the damage, handing him the spoon back with a frown. "Do you really feel that way...?"
His eyes widened, looking up at her. He slowly nodded, taking the spoon back.
"I just hurt everyone and everything..." Jacob sniffed, wiping a tear away. "I wish I never had it. What if I hurt my kids...? Or my wife...?"
Val frowned and kneeled in front of him. "Jacob..."
"And my own father experimented on me because of my strength... I missed all that time of my life... I wish I could have it back... But I couldn't... All because of this stupid power!"
Jacob began to cry softly, pulling his knees to his chest and lowering his head.
Val frowned. "Are you certain you wish you never had them? You don't want them anymore?"
"P-Positive."
Val lowered her head, sighing. "Then I'm so sorry... I will take back my gift to you..."
She reached her hand out, closing her eyes. The magic was sucked out from his body, leaving him much weaker than he was before. She reabsorbed the power she had lost before opening her eyes.
"Be free," she said sadly, giving him a small smile.
Jacob groaned, passing out from the major shift in energy and in his very being. She sighed.
"I'm sorry you didn't like my gift... I never meant to ruin your life, Jacob," Val frowned, teleporting him into bed.
Val teleported in Connor's room and picked him up carefully, trying not to wake him up. She then teleported to Charles and Nina's house, setting him in a crib before calling Nina and then teleporting out of the room. She then straightened things out with the school for Sophia temporarily to go to Charles and Nina's house after school that day. She teleported back to Jacob and sighed, sitting beside him.
"I'm really sorry..." Val said. "I was only trying to give you something to defend yourself with... You were just too scared to use it. But you never need to worry about it again..."
She gave him a small smile then teleported away. Jacob continued to be unconscious, exhausted in every way.
