After Dayton left and she woke up again, Rylee sobbed and sobbed without any explanation. Casey started to sedate her, but Derrick advised against it. It was only making her worse... Rylee was absolutely miserable. Everything hurt. Every breath felt like a struggle from all the talking and crying she had been doing. She just wanted to go back to normal... She also wanted her mom. Her dad was great and cared much more, but Rylee wished she could have her mom again... When Rylee was sad, they'd always make cookies together - or if she was sick, Rose would make them for her. She teared up, remembering how Rose left... She wondered about her mom a lot...

Rylee suddenly got sharp, stabbing pains in her head. She made a combination of agonized noises, whimpering, and crying. Derrick squeezed his eyes shut, frowning. He would do anything to take her pain away... Yet there was nothing to be done. He still remembered the excited text Rylee sent him when she got into chorus... And now she was in there making noises no 16 year old should ever make. He walked in and gave her more to help with her pain. Rylee choked on a sob and looked at him. Derrick pulled her into a hug gently and then she rested her head on him, relaxing her tense - yet very thin - body slightly. Derrick kissed the head of his youngest daughter.
"It'll be okay, sweetheart... I'm sure of it, okay? You'll feel better soon..."
Rylee fell asleep to his words, leaning on him fully. Derrick smiled slightly and sat there with his young daughter who he wished he could do more for. But being the healer after nearly giving her entire body up to save someone else took time... Even the healing cells of her body were few. They needed time to thrive and heal her body...especially her head. Derrick wished he could so something... But for now, there was nothing to be done...

Rylee dreamed of strawberry icecream and vanilla chip cookies with her mom and Dayton.
