Genesis changed into her pajamas and then got into bed, yawning. Her guards were stationed outside her door. She drifted off into sleep, very exhausted from all the hard work she had done ever since they arrived. She had a lot to work on and understand if she wanted to stop the Empire. But for now... It was time for rest. She knew she simply wasn't at her best when she wasn't well rested...

Genesis was in a field of grass with the sun shining on her... She smiled and spun around with her arms out a few times until suddenly, someone joined in as if cutting into a dance. Genesis's eyes widened slightly. "Cedric...?"
"Indeed, Princess. It is I."
They were suddenly inside a grand, intergalatic ballroom; however, he and Genesis were the only two there and began dancing as the music started.
"It's been so long, Geni," Cedric commented stopping dancing with her with a smile.
"It has been a while... But you know we're essentially at war?" Genesis asked, raising an eyebrow.
"All the more reason to visit you, dear," Cedric grinned, spinning her then pulling her close, stopping and holding her close. "Just surrender and make this easier on yourself... We're much better together."
Genesis looked at him for a moment before pulling away, walking a bit away and hugging herself lightly. "I can't do that and you know why... You hurt, destroy, and conquer the innocent. Do you think I could just...let that happen?"
She turned, looking at him with a curious look with a small frown.
Cedric chuckled. "Of course not... But if we get Nate, even you will have to submit to our authority. And by the way... Why have you not properly claimed your title?"
"I'm barely 14... That's far too young to rule a kingdom," Genesis said.
"Yet, you rule it regardless. No... It's something else. What is it, Geni?" Cedric questioned.
Genesis sighed. "It is that...and I don't want to...to..."
She trailed off, closing her eyes and looking down.
"To what?" Cedric asked, walking over and brushing a piece of hair behind her ear.
Genesis opened her eyes and looked up at him, a few tears in her eyes. "I don't want to take their place, Cedric..."
Cedric frowned and hugged her closely. She hugged back and began to sob into his shoulder.
"I know it's hard... But if you're going to stand against us, you have to be strong, Gen," Cedric frowned, stroking her hair. "You have to be strong for your parents."
"I wish your dad wouldn't have...have..." Genesis sobbed.
"I know... I'm sorry about that... But you know how he is... He...he conquers. He never expected you to amount to half the ruler he was... He was wrong. He would've been better off fighting your father, Genesis. You are so strong... You have stayed so strong for your people when no one expects you to be..." Cedric said quietly, still stroking her hair.
"Maybe I don't want to be strong!" Genesis cried out.

Suddenly, she sat up in her bed, taking deep breaths. She was hugging her pillow tightly and slowly set it down.
Morag ran in with her spear in her hands. "Princess Genesis? Are you alright?"
Genesis's eyes widened. "I'm fine, really. I'm sorry to startle you... It was...just a dream..."
She looked down at her blanket.
Morag frowned, putting her spear across her back. "I see... In that case..."
She walked over and winded up Genesis's music box - her favorite gift from her father.
"Goodnight, your majesty," Morag bowed and walked out.
Genesis took a deep breath and lied back down, hugging her pillow again and frowning. But the sweet music lulled her back into sleep, thankfully. Morag often worried about more than her physical safety... But she only knew how to protect her in that way.
