Brooke was hurrying off, immensely annoyed. Her guardian didn't even care about her. She wondered why he even offered... But whatever.
After she read her file and learned about her parents... She realized the painful truth. They didn't love her. And then Charles saved her from them just to dump her off in a facility.
She grew up parentless and she longed for the parently love, but by this point, she had pretty much given up. It was more like an almost constant, dull ache inside her.
But why would he care anyways? Why did she expect his support after everything else? She appreciated him letting her stay with them and everything and saving her from experimentation, but... She felt empty.
She was walking so fast, trying to escape the truth, that she didn't even pay attention. The next thing she knew, she tripped. She didn't hurt anything, so she got up. Then she fell again. Her ankle...
She hid her thoughts from Rylee as best as she could and stood, continuing walking away from the hotel and ignoring the sharp, almost unbearable pain in her foot.
Suddenly, she felt something inside her shut down. She frowned and tried to use her speed, but it didn't work. Her power abandoned her?! Why? She sighed and sat down on a bench, wincing, already having of speed walked a mile or two away from the hotel...
She sighed, but refused to call Rylee telepathically. She would rather crawl back then get help and have people think she was weak. But for now... Brooke squeezed her eyes shut and sighed, just sitting there. Ow...
