The Accident That Changed Everything

When Rylee Was Little...

Casey and Derrick were dilligently working on this cure thing. They had almost perfected it. It improved human cells considerably. What they didn't know is that they synthesized the chemical that gave people powers. In fact, they weren't even aware of powers at the time. They eventually went to take a break and get a snack.

Little Rylee, small and carefree, skipped into the lab, not knowing they weren't there. She frowned then climbed onto the chair to see what they were working on. She couldn't help but feel this...pull...towards the solution. Leaning on the table made it slide towards her. She jumped and fell out of the chair. She hit her head, blacking out as the chemical covered her and began changing her DNA.

Eventually, Casey and Derrick walked back upstairs. Casey gasped and Derrick ran over. The chemical had completely 'soaked in,' if you want to call it that.
Derrick picked up his daughter and held her closely. "Rylee? Rylee!"
Rylee mumbled and moved closer to him, resting her head on him.
"She'll be okay, I think... Let's just let her get some rest," Derrick stated, carrying her off to her room.
Casey somehow knew that everything was going to change. She just couldn't figure out how...
