Ginger got engaged and married at 17 since her and Ray's parents approved the marriage and gave them permission. She graduated highschool a year early and she and Ray got an apartment near college. They spent the schoolyear there and halfway through the year, she turned 18. In early summer, she had some news to share with him...

"Um, so...Ray..." Ginger began, semi-uncomfortably walking over and sitting beside her husband.
"Yes babe?" Ray replied, pulling her close.
"I know this really isn't the best timing... We...we haven't graduated or anything, but... Uh..."
He raised an eyebrow and she tensed, getting nervous.
"Babe, just tell me," he said a bit exasperatedly.
"I'm pregnant," she whispered.
He blinked a few times. "Already? Babe, we're still in college..."
"I-I know... I- I..." Ginger stuttered over her words.
Ray let go of her and sighed. "Ginger..."
Ginger frowned, tearing up. "Ray..."
"We had so many things left to do together, so much college life to experience together... How are you going to manage homework and exams with your baby?" Ray asked.
Her heart sunk at his words, tearing up a bit more. "D-don't you mean our baby?"
Ray sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I guess... Could you just give the baby up for adop-?"
Ginger's eyes widened and she cut him off before he finished, whacking him. "No!! I'm not giving the baby up for adoption!!!"
"Ooowww! I was just suggesting! Chill out. Are you moody already?" Ray laughed.
Ginger bit her lip and stood. "If this is all so funny to you, I don't know why I married you in the first place."
Ray stood. "Babe, come on. Just give the baby up for adoption when it's born and we can have another baby later. Like...after we graduate or something."
Ginger narrowed her eyes, which were teary, and took off her ring, throwing it at him and walking out. "I'm not having another kid with you! And we're done!"
Ray frowned and hurried after her. "Baaaabeeee..." He grabbed her arm to stop her. "Where are you going?"
She tried to pull her hand free. "I don't know! Away from you! I want to keep the twins. I'm not giving them up for adoption, Ray!"
"Oh? Them?" Ray asked, tightening his grip slightly. "Ginger, don't be stupid. You love me. You're my wife. Don't leave over something so small."
"So small?!" Ginger cried, pulling her hand free. "I don't think that's what I'd call small! I was so nervous to tell you, but I thought you'd be excited and you don't even want your own children! It's your fault that I'm leaving! You don't care about anyone except yourself!"
She then ran out and got in her car, driving off to her parents house with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Her parents gave her a long lecture about the value of marriage and told them not to give up on him so easily. She listened, but was inwardly fuming. Why were they on HIS side?! They always took his side. She listened all the other times, but... She's had enough. Her father encouraged her to give the baby up for adoption too. What was wrong with these people?! Ginger knew the rest of her family might agree, but she didn't care. She was an 18 year old woman who was fully capable of being a mother! Why was everyone acting like she messed up so badly?! Sure, she was in college. But who cares?! She was an heiress and didn't like studying business anyways. Not that she even needed to work... She liked cooking, but that wasn't 'acceptable' for her to study or whatever. ...But that wasn't the point!

She slammed the door hard and drove off to talk to Trey. She took a deep breath and kept driving. She knew Ray wasn't what she thought... But she didn't realize it would happen like this. She couldn't help but feel a bit pressured by everyone in her life about giving them up for adoption...but- No! No no no. Don't think like them, she reminded herself. She sighed and looked down at her pretty small baby bump for a moment.
"Don't worry, Rex and Kari... Everything will be okay," she whispered quietly, sniffing slightly again. "I love you both."
