"Valentina," my father called.
I looked up from my book and smiled. "Coming dad!"
I didn't waste a second, running to my father, eager to see what he had to say. Would it be about my birthday??
Once I got into his office - which my brother Ender was also in, he turned to face me. "Valentina, I'm sending you and your brother down to earth. I'm giving you both a cube of rybrospon. The rest of it must be destroyed."
My eyes widened. "Destroyed? But why?"
"To keep the humans away from it in large amounts," he explained, putting a necklace on me and my brother.
I instantly felt a bit more powerful. "But...humans haven't even been to space!"
"Not yet," he replied. "Besides, I have no say in the matter. The empire wants it, so we must destroy it. And you know this conflict could quite possibly destroy the only planets left... So guard and use the rybrospon well, my children."
Valentina glanced down at her necklace, holding the cube gently, and then looked up again. "What about you...?"
"This depends on you. Don't worry about me. Now... Go," he ordered.
"Goodbye, father..." Ender whispered, giving our father a nod.
Dad returned the nod and then Ender stepped to the door, waiting for me.
I teared up and ran over, hugging him. "I love you, dad... I don't want to leave you."
He hugged back and kissed my forehead. "I love you too, Valentina... That's why I insist you go."
I sighed shakily and pulled away. "Bye dad..."
"Goodbye, Valentina," he said with a tight-lipped smile.
I looked at him for a moment, memorizing his face, and then walked over to my brother. We started to walk out, but dad said one last thing.."Oh, and happy birthday, Valentina."

When they arrived on earth, the world was in its medieval times. Valentina ended up dating a prince while Ender ended up spreading rumors about dragons - a creature that used to exist back in their home. He also ended up getting people to think there was magic because of the rybrospon's doings, as well as his own doing.
Valentina loved the prince at one time. But one day, something...changed. Ender changed. With his eyes full of power, he locked Valentina away inside her cube of rybrospon and locked her away on a barely inhabited continent where it'd be hard to find. He did whatever he wanted and Valentina couldn't stop him. One day, his cube also locked him away. And until recent times, they both lied like artifacts of the past, waiting for someone.
The cube acted as a prison. A prison that would one day become an origin story. But that leaves the question open...
Was Valentina the only one who was found?
