Grace was working on her book again when her mom walked in, sighing.
"Grace, really? Sweetheart, I hate to tell you this, but your father and I were talking... We think it's time you stopped depending on us and were more independent. I packed your bag, you can go find somewhere to stay."
Grace blinked a few times, shutting her notebook. "What? Why?"
"You're always shut up in your room, you don't help pay rent... Honestly, Grace, it's time you moved out of the house and made your own future."
Grace frowned, shutting her notebook and and standing. "Alright then... I see." She picked up the duffle bag beside her bed and put it over her shoulder. "Bye then."
She put her phone in her pocket and walked out.
"Grace, aren't you going to say goodbye?! After all I've done for you-?!" her mom called.
"Bye mom...thanks..." Grace said, walking down the stairs, going back to her writing.
She heard the door shut a few seconds later. She just walked down the streets, writing intently, but not working on her book any more. Instead, she was quickly writing poems and betrayals. She essentially just got kicked out by her family... With a mere $30 on her debit card, she didn't exactly have many options. But the dark, gloomy day she had been having was immediately brightened when she bumped into who she thought was a stranger...but instead was the nice guy from before, who had heavily inspired one of her characters in her second book.
