The first thing that initially came back to Quinn O'Connell was a crisp, clean sterile smell. For some reason she couldn't comprehend through the fog of her mind at that moment, she absolutely adored the smell, she would later come to find that it was because that smell was the smell of two people in her life that she would love unconditionally. One was her very own mother.

The second thing to come back to Quinn O'Connell was the sound, at first, her ears rang profusely, like listening through water and they ached with the need to pop, crackling along. That was the first pain that she was aware of but soon came the second, the back of her head was searing in agony and she knew that she was going to have a lovely bump to mark the place. Reaching her sensitive hands up gently, her eyes fluttering, she almost scoffed at the feeling of the bandage wrapped around her head. When she finally opened her eyes, she had to close them again under the glare of the bright white light.

Eventually, the voices were clear and she sighed in silent relief when she heard the clear voice of Isabella Swan to her right and Tyler babbling away on her left. The room slowly span into focus through the haze that clogged her vision and the sound of Tyler apologising continually met her ears, much to her dismay.

"Quinn, you doing okay?" a new voice questioned when they finally noticed that her aqua eyes were open and she looked into the warm eyes of Charlie Swan, chief of police. She knew this man well, he had been there when her mother died... In fact, he had been the one to find her body. There was a mutual agreement between them never to speak of the events of that night but it was nice to have at least one person she could trust. Charlie Swan was one of the only people in Forks that didn't trust Jensen Hargreaves, he could look past all of the wealth and fancy suits to see someone who was not quite right.

"Y-yeah, I'm okay" her voice was rough and she coughed, pushing herself to sit and cringing as she did so. "Thanks, Charlie"

"I should be the one thanking you, you saved my girl" he nodded toward Bella who smiled awkwardly, shyly from the next bed across and Quinn smiled.

"It was my pleasure" she winked and finally pulled herself into a comfortable sitting position.

"Hi Sweetie, how's the head doing?" a new voice questioned and Quinn turned to it, her senses seemed to be working in slow motion, catching onto things a little bit at a time and when she saw the warm eyes of Nurse Jackie, a beam broke out on her cheeks. The little lady broke protocol to hug her, Jackie had been her mothers best friend and a lady by whom she had spent many days. Things were different now, without her mother to keep them close but Quinn would always have a place in her heart for the kind nurse.

"Quinn--" Tyler began and she just held her hand up to him to silence him.

"It's fine Tyler" he just seemed flustered that one of the popular girls had spoken to him and that successfully shut him up, much to Bella's relief.
