Quinn and Carlisle sat cuddled up in an armchair in the main room, a blanket wrapped around them and as Quinn closed her eyes, praying for a sleep that would never come, she realised just how much her life had really changed. In just a year, Quinn O'Connell had lost all hope, gained a new best friend, a new family, a fiancé, a new house. She had an entirely new life. She was even a new person. But despite all the change and lack of control- she had never felt so happy.

"What are you thinking about?" The doctor queried as he aimlessly played with strands of her hair- watching how it shifted colours under the fluorescent lamplight. It was warm there, in the cozy lighting of the room at night and it felt so perfect to be in that position.

"Life" she responded quickly, honestly and he chuckled, pressing a kiss to her cheek gently. "How incredible my life had become." She reiterated, turning to face him, shifting in his lap and his topaz eyes assessed her expertly. Carlisle didn't know how he had gotten so lucky, to find a love as perfect as her.

"I'm glad you think so." He chuckled. "Even after we've spent the day discussing newborn army fighting tactics" Carlisle smiled, though there was a certain worry in his eyes. The newborn army weren't going to stop and as they were after Bella- one of their own- they had a duty to stop them. Carlisle had never relished in the thought of killing another creature, even if that creature was hellbent on destroying the life he had.

"Well I have you, and that makes life worthwhile- even during a war." She promised, hugging him as if he was a big teddy bear and he smiled- returning the gesture. As they sat there, the silence was peaceful and neither of them felt the need to break it, smuggling one another calmly and appreciating how lucky they truly were. A buzz from the coffee table caught their attention and Quinn frowned as her phone screen lit up. The blonde girl rarely ever seemed to get messages- she had no one to talk to other than those she lived with and so she took the phone eagerly, heart lurching sickeningly at the sight of the words lit up in front of her.

"What is it?" Carlisle coaxed softly, though if he tilted his head, he would clearly be able to see the phone screen. Carlisle wasn't like that, he was compassionate and he merely stared into her eyes and waited calmly for a response, warm calming smile on his lips as he rubbed soothing patterns on her arm.

"It's my sister" she stated and he frowned, making her shake her head with a sigh. "My step sister. A little fifteen year old brat with anger issues. I— I think I need to phone her."

"Okay... do you want me to stay?" He questioned softly, knowing that the conversation likely wouldn't be a pleasant one but his fiancé merely nodded, smiling nervously as she pressed the phone button. It didn't matter that it was the middle of the night- Gabby had messaged her and Quinn had always been an avid phone caller, it got the conversation dealt with quicker.

"Quinny, you took your time" the tone clipped and Quinn instantly squeezed her eyes shut, memory's swarming her quickly.

"You messaged me three minutes ago, Gabby." She informed softly.

"Right, whatever. Listen, we have major problems Quinny. Major. I'm in Seattle with daddy's lawyers, shit is happening." The girl huffed out and Quinn blinked in shock, looking at Carlisles beautiful face to calm her.

"Calm down Gabriella. What is the matter? What has happened?" As much as Quinn wanted to hate the stuck up girl who had done nothing but irk her for the past five years- she couldn't. Gabby Hargreaves was just a teenager who had recently lost her dad. Albeit, an irritating one.

"I saw them Quinn. You don't have to pretend to be all kind and concerned. I know what my dick of a dad did to you and to all those other women, alright? But he's still my dad." Gabby's voice finally became serious and Quinn frowned, knowing she couldn't see it.

"W-what are you talking about?"

"We really need to meet up Quinn. I need your help. My dads videos. Some women have banded together in some campaign or something, they have his videos Quinn. They have proof and they're suing the Hargreaves estate. I know you don't owe me anything, not after what he did but... I just really need to talk to you, before they do. The lawyers say they're going to approach you... they have your videos too Quinn but they need your permission to use them. I need to talk to you before they do. Please, I know I've been a real bitch to you but I need to apologise for what my dad did. You don't owe me anything but... this isn't about him anymore. He's dead. This is about me. I'm going to go down as the girl whose dad was a fucking rapist Quinn!"

"I will meet you, Gabby." Was all Quinn responded to the comment though she felt frozen and she knew that if she was human, her voice would've shuddered.

Quinn O'Connell truly hated Forks, Washington. All the dirt from the past was being dug back up and now it was her turn to choose what she wanted to do about it. There were people out there who had seen the videos- she didn't know how it was possible but she knew that it had happened and the thought made her skin crawl. They wanted her to allow them to use her videos as evidence. And Quinn didn't have a clue what to do...
