Quinn frowned at the dress laid out on the bed neatly with a pair of shoes on the floor beside it and for a long moment, she just stared before sighing and allowing her towel to drop so she could change into it. The fabric was smooth as she pulled it up over her and the billowing dark blue material made her feel beautiful as it danced around her body. Quinn left her face makeup-free though brushed through her blonde curls before beginning to walk slowly through the island house in search of Carlisle Cullen.
Stepping onto the beach, her eyes lit up at the sight of the many candles that filled her vision and she followed the path that they made, rose petals crushing underneath her feet as she proceeded across the sand. Carlisle had always been a hopeless romantic but it just made her love him more as she finally sat his silhouette in the distance, standing on the end of the dock.
As Quinn's shoes hit the wood, he turned with a bright beam on his lips and she couldn't help but return it, she knew that she would be blushing if that was at all possible. He was dressed just as gloriously as it made her heart swell as she slowly made her way to where he stood. There was no need to run now, to be fast because they had forever. The sound of music that reached her ears was only made more beautiful by the sound of the waves
When Quinns fingers slipped through his, she felt that she was finally home and he pulled her close to his chest, looking down at her with eyes of complete love and affection. Carlisle and Quinn stood like that, in one another's embrace for a long moment as they stared at each other, a silent exchange of love before he reached up to her neck and she frowned as she looked down to see a silver locket lying against the pale skin of her neck. Taking it gently, her eyes took in the Cullen coven symbol on the front and her eyes welled with tears as she opened it to see the tiny picture inside. It was small but she could clearly see it with her vampire's eyes, it was a picture of the Cullen coven in their entirety and her heart melted.
Engraved on the back of the locket was two words. 'Love, Carlisle' Quinn looked up at the man of her dreams whose hair was curlier now, due to the wind that swept warmly around them and she knew as she looked at those golden eyes, that she had found the love that she'd once wrote to her mother about. Quinn felt like a fairytale princess as he pulled her close and led her into dance along the dock.
"I love you, Carlisle" she whispered though she knew he heard her perfectly clearly as he pressed his forehead to hers and swayed her gently on the spot.
"I love you too, Quinn" and he spun her outwards before pulling her back into his chest. Over the course of their island holiday, Quinn's face had been alight with such passion and joy and Carlisle was more than proud to know that he had been the one to put it there. In Quinn's mind, she could safely say that she had finally gotten off of the carousel. Quinn was in peace now, in happiness and she knew that it was all because she had finally defeated her demons and she couldn't have done it without Carlisle.
Carlisle made Quinn feel complete, he made her feel beautiful even at the times that she didn't see it herself. He made her feel more love in a second than she'd ever felt in her entire life put together. And for Carlisle, Quinn was the thing he had been waiting all of his immortal life for, Quinn was his reason for existing and as he spun her around in a circle, a laugh pulling at his lips, he felt more alive than ever before.
