Quinn O'Connell was the pretty girl in pink, the homecoming queen and all-around straight-A student. Most people saw her as uptight, narcissistic but most importantly... They saw her as a control freak with her perfect blonde hair and patronising sm...

Quinn could do nothing but stare as she watched the raindrops roll down his gravestone. 'Here lies Jensen Adam Hargreaves, beloved mayor, father and friend'. It was made of a black stone that Quinn couldn't identify and it all seemed so fitting, it was decorated with beautiful bouquets of flowers even now, months after his death. And she knew that for the people of Forks Washington- He was never going to be anything other than their brilliant mayor. He wasn't a monster to them like he was to her.
"It's not going to help you to be here, Quinn" his voice was so gentle as he approached behind him and she absentmindedly wondered how he knew where she was, but the mind reader could easily answer that question. "Alice"
"You didn't tell Carlisle?" she questioned, looking up at him in worry and Edward frowned, looking down at her, waiting for her to elaborate. "He made me feel better, Ed, I don't want to start digging all this stuff back up again now that we're back in Forks. We travelled all over Europe together for months and ... I was better. He doesn't deserve to have to worry about all of this."
"Quinn, Carlisle loves you. He wants to worry about all the things that worry you. He would hate the idea that you're hiding things from him because you feel bad. That ring on your finger- that's more than a promise for love and happiness. That's his promise that he will love you even when you can't love yourself, that he will be there for you when you're sad. You know that Quinn, don't lock him out of your feelings."
"He starts work again tomorrow" she spoke softly, watching the rain. "I know that we have eternity and that I am being selfish, wanting him close to me all the time but... I can't help it. I feel so much better with him around, and then when he's gone, everything comes flooding back in and I hate it. I'm a vampire now, I'm not supposed to be so weak."
"You're strong Quinn, don't doubt that about yourself. Becoming a vampire hasn't changed your mind, all the memories are still there and you are so brave and strong because you fight it." he tried to explain.
"I voted no for Bella because she has everything I wanted and she's throwing it away. When I lived with Jensen, all I wanted was loving parents who would protect me. I just wanted to be loved. And Bella has Charlie, and she's going to make him suffer, all so she can be immortal. I understand that she wants to be with you, of course, I understand but she says that Charlie will survive, that he will be fine. As if she doesn't even care." she frowned and Edward sighed.
"She knows what she's going to put him through, I can't read her mind but I know her, I love her and I know that she's worried. She's choosing to ignore it at the moment because it's easier for her to do that than face the consequences. She doesn't understand your opinion Quinn, because she's never been in your position" he smiled sadly. "You know,... My mother was called Elizabeth too" he smiled and she returned it. The two of them knew that they were one another's best friends and nothing could change that.
"What should I do now, Edward?" she smiled, turning to face him and he grinned, watching the rain drip down in a spiral around her curls.
"You have forever Quinn, what would you like to do?"
"I don't know" she laughed softly. "But I better start thinking"
