"So" Edward hummed as he relaxed into the passenger seat- it was unusual for him, not being the driver but he knew that she needed something to do with her hands, her mind was working in overdrive now. "What are you doing to do with these?" he wondered, nodding to the envelope in his lap and she looked down at it for a split second.

"We are going to burn them" she decided with finality and he couldn't help but smile, following the grin that split across her cheeks. She seemed happier and happier the further away from Seattle they got and that made him smile. Quinn and Edward had a very special relationship, one that neither of them could understand but didn't question.

"Quinn" he stated softly and she turned to him in surprise at his sudden tone shift. "I need you to know... Because we haven't spoken much about it... That when I went to Volturi, I was in a world of pain but, as I stood there and asked for my own death... I thought of you, and it pained me so badly to have to say goodbye to you, to leave you behind. I don't understand what this is, our friendship but I know that when I didn't have Bella, you were the thing that gave me hope." that was all he had to say on the topic and she nodded once with a soft smile.

"I know what you mean Edward. Aside from Carlisle, you are the one person on this earth that I am closest to. We may never understand it, but it's the truth and I for one think it is brilliant, to have someone that you care so much about." she smiled and he nodded along, listening to her words and thoughts calmly. With her powers, Edward was sure she could keep him out of her head if she really wanted to, but she didn't.

"If I thought it would do any good, I would ask you to sit out of the battle with me" he informed her and she looked up at him sideways, frowning. "But I know that if I was in your position, I would have to fight too. But do me a favour Quinn?"

"Anything?"

"Stay safe, okay. We're the fast ones, use it. I don't know what I'll do if anything happens to you." he tried with a sigh.

"If anything happens to me, keep Carlisle safe" she informed him easily as if she had thought much about it. "I know we all think we can easily beat them, but in the case that something does go wrong..."

"I understand, Quinn" he nodded. "Thank you, for coming back here. I know you hate this place and you're only here because of Bella and me, but thank you either way. I need you here."

"Edward, I am here because the Cullens are my family. You are my family and I will do anything for you, all of you. If that means living in the hellhole of the world then so be it. I am sure I can survive a few times in a dreary town."

"But it isn't just a dreary town to you, Quinn. This place hasn't brought you any happiness" he sighed sadly and she frowned, humming as she drove.

"It has. This place may have brought me the worst pain, but it has also brought me the greatest happiness. And for that, I can never truly hate it. This place gave me a family, It gave me Carlisle and it gave me you" she listed and he listened carefully to each of her words. Edward didn't know how the Cullens had functioned without Quinn, she was a missing part of the puzzle, she was always meant to be there.

"Why thank you"

"W-what?" he chuckled in shock.

"Master Hypnotist, me" she winked and he realised why she had looked so deeply into his eyes for no particular reason.

"It's unnerving, isn't it? Having someone in your head. Now I know how everyone else feels" he chuckled and she giggled along as they finally reached the long driveway of the Cullen house.

"How is Bella?" Quinn changed the topic as they entered the garage smoothly, lining her car up with all the others. Together, they stepped out as they spoke.

"She's spending a lot more time at La Push" he sighed and Quinn smiled sympathetically.

"So I've heard. They might not be the safest choice of friends but, at least she still has some friends besides us. Maybe it will give her something to live for?" Quinn prompted and Edward thought about it deeply. "The more friends she has, the more likely she is to want to be human. But I hope she doesn't"

"What?"

"I voted against her being a vampire... But I want her to be with you, Edward and every day I realise how much you need her. You want her to be human, but that means that she will inevitably have to leave you. You're immortal, the only way to be with you forever is if she lives forever." Quinn shrugged.

"I know, I just wish it was all a little bit easier. I feel like I'm fighting her on everything recently." he huffed. "I'm fighting her about her growing relationship with Jacob, about being a vampire, about getting married. She's so stubborn." he rolled his eyes and she giggled as they entered the main room of the Cullen house.

"Because she knows what she wants, You. Maybe it is all a lot easier than you think, Ed. She's chosen you by saying that she wants to be a vampire."

That night, they had a bonfire and without ever even opening the envelope, Quinn tossed it into the flames. It didn't matter what was in there anymore...
