Quinn couldn't help but smile at Bella as they sat side-by-side and the brunette spoke excitably about the day that she had had, the party continued on around them. Suddenly, the bride stopped speaking, mid-sentence, grinning and Quinn frowned before following Bellas gaze to something over her shoulder. Carlisle stood handsomely in his suit, smiling politely as he placed his champagne flute- untouched- on the table beside the two girls.

"I apologise. Would I be able to steal Quinn away for a moment?" the doctor questioned the bride and Bella grinned and nodded, gesturing for Quinn to go ahead and follow him. Smiling once at Bella, Quinn accepted Carlisle's hand to help her up and watched intently as he pulled her arm through the loop of his own.

"W-what?" she couldn't help but frown upwards at him, unconsciously searching the area with her eyes, seeing very few people bothering to stare in their direction in return.

"One dance won't hurt, my love. In fact, it would be expected of us" he chuckled as he tugged her gently onto the partially empty dancefloor. "As long as I don't suddenly start to passionately kiss you in front of all our shocked guests, we'll be fine" he winked as he pulled her close and they danced gently with one another.

"Oh, are we going to save the passionate kisses for later?" she questioned in a small smile and he winked at her again but otherwise hummed along to the music gently. "When do you go back to work?"

"I have the next three days off" he smiled gently, and she nodded as they danced along beside one another. "I was thinking we could go to the cottage, where there aren't any eyes prying on us" he chuckled and Quinn couldn't help but giggle along. Quinn O'Connell was happiest in his arms and as they danced in elegant, almost professional circles, neither of them particularly minded that there were eyes on them as they did so. "You're so beautiful, Quinn."

"And you are the most handsome person I have ever laid eyes on." she returned and he chuckled as he turned her into a spin, releasing her hand for a moment as she spun before she fell back into his chest and the two of them stared deeply into one another's eyes. It would've been so simple then, to kiss her deeply under the glittering fairy lights of the dancefloor but instead, he swallowed and spun her again to break the moment. "Almost" she breathed.

"Almost" he returned as they danced, the purple fabric of her dress and the blonde of her curls billowing around them as they waltzed in a gentle rise and fall.

"This reminds me on the island," she whispered out and he smiled, eyes trailing over her face before landing in the silver necklace dangling gently from her neck. Carlisle couldn't help but smile brightly at the sight of it. "You're a brilliant dancer."

"Why thank you, love" he returned and she wanted nothing more than to place her head against his chest and listen to his gentle hum along to the music. Such things were impossible at that time and it ruined the good mood she knew she should've been in. It was, after all, her best friends wedding day.

Carlisle and Quinn appeared as the most beautiful pair to the onlookers, though the couple acted their parts well and nothing was suspected. Charlie- who had deduced the situation a long while ago, couldn't help but smile, even if the man was supposed to be near enough his own age. Carlisle Cullen very clearly made Quinn happy and given the life that she had had- Charlie couldn't deny her that happiness. When the stories of Jensen Hargreaves had hit the newspapers a few months ago, Charlie felt guilt drown him because he couldn't help but feel partially responsible for the pain she had gone through. Quinn had undoubtedly been subject to his cruel ways and Charlie had let it happen, despite how much he promised to protect her from it all.

Quinn, on the other hand, was happier with Carlisle than ever before. Each and every time she thought that she was the happiest one could possibly be, more elation swept through her. Ripping Jensens head from his body and watching him burn was the final straw and she could be happy now. She supposed that actually seeing his death was the only thing that could assure her that the horrors were over. Quinn gasped as Carlisle danced her right the way off of the dance floor and toward the house. On the way up the back porch steps, they passed the happy couple who smiled at them as they entered the darkness of the Cullen mansion.

Quinn and Carlisle had successfully snuck away from the celebration and she giggled as he tugged her along through the house to the main room which was vacant of all people.

"I'm sorry, I tried to go a night without stealing a kiss but you look so utterly gorgeous. The more you tell yourself not to do something, the more you want to." He chuckled and she grinned as she pressed her lips to his passionately, as their lips moved in time with one another, it was like a breath of fresh air. A relief after a long day and something they both needed. Carlisle brushed her curls out of her eyes as he kissed her gently as she grasped his lapels to pull him closer.

"Sorry to break up the party but Alice says I need my best man" Edward smirked from the stairs and the two of them huffed, placing their foreheads together for a pregnant pause before backing away and the girl smiled at the groom.

"What can I do for you?"

"Something about getting the car ready to go?"
