"It's been three days." The voice of Jack Denali was the first one Quinn heard for that long. "Everyone's downstairs having a little party because they've discovered the vampire baby can drink human blood and we're stuck upstairs starving to death." The man ground his teeth together as he entered Carlisle and Quinn's shared bedroom, finding the girl lying in the bed, doing nothing.

"I highly doubt we are going to die, Jack" she rolled her eyes, looking up at the ceiling as he flopped to lie beside her on the bed. In their isolation, the two of them had been growing closer.

"You haven't seen Carlisle in three days because he's finding the human downstairs more important than you" the vampire tried again and she knew that he was just upset due to the hunger. He didn't actually believe the words that were leaving his mouth. "Doesn't that bother you, even in the slightest?"

"Jack, I know you don't actually believe that" she sighed, patting his chest and he rolled his eyes. It was only five minutes later, in their silence, that the bedroom door opened and Emmett and Jasper entered nervously, looking over the two lounging on the bed. In their hands, Emmett and Jasper had a games console.

"Do you have any more room in your pity party?" Emmett wondered, voice dry and they exchanged glances. "If I see Bella sip another O-neg. juice box, I'm going to be forced to sink my teeth into the dogs outside."

"The more the merrier" Jack gestured around the room with a hollow voice as he tucked his arm behind his head, looking up at the ceiling in a similar state as Quinn. Emmett hopped lazily between them on the large bed. Despite how big the king bed was, it had now reached beyond its full capacity, leaving Jasper to take a seat at the desk.

"How are you doing, Q-tips?" Emmett wondered as he rolled onto his side, looking at her intently and she merely smiled tightly in return, shuffling across to give him more room. "Better now I'm here, hey?"

"Absolutely" she grinned and Jasper chuckled as he took a seat on the end of the bed, flicking through the channels on the television opposite.

"Carlisle misses you" Jasper spoke, clearly having heard the conversation he'd walked in on a few minutes previously. Quinn merely hummed in response.

"Well, I'm not in prison, if he wanted to see me he'd walk up the stairs and pop in to say hi" she returned, tucking the blankets around her, having to shove Emmett slightly to do so. They were all reluctant to move very much, at risk of crashing straight through the bed due to the weight.

"Careful now, Q. You're letting the hunger get to you" Jasper informed her and she just sighed, ignoring him.

"It was bound to happen eventually" she sighed.

"You could go down there, you know. Just have to hold your breath" Emmett grinned and Quinn sighed, standing up and stretching which allowed Emmett and Jack more room on the bed as Jasper managed to get the games console connected that they had brought with them. The blonde girl slid the balcony door open and took a step forward, feeling the cold air bite her skin and it was marvellously refreshing.

"It hurts like hell" Jack groaned from behind her as the men decided to chat about their thirst... To distract from their thirst. Quinn assessed the trees with her midnight black eyes though her gaze trailed to find itself casting downwards. Standing on the porch below; Edward, Carlisle and Rosalie were talking to one another quietly and she didn't even have the strength to listen as she dragged her eyes away from them.

Quinn knew that Carlisle was stressed, that he was doing his best to keep his family together but to do so, he had taken to ignoring her. Quinn didn't know how she had ended up at the bottom of the priority list for him but as she looked at the glittering engagement ring on her hand, she had the overwhelming desire to cry. She missed him though there he was, standing right below her.

"Walk with me" Emmett encouraged the blonde girl beside him as he joined her and she blinked at him for a moment before taking his hand. Quinn and Emmett took a step carefully onto the balcony railing and hopped off, feeling the wind rush passed them before the grass crushed underfoot and they walked slowly hand in hand into the small amount of forest they were allowed to enter. Collectively, they completely ignored the people behind them until they heard their approach.

"Quinn" her fiance called quietly and she huffed as Emmett winked down at her and continued walking on his own. Whipping around, the blonde girl crossed her arms as she stared at the man she loved so much. The doctor looked perfectly calm under her intense dark gaze. "How are you?"

"Fine" she clipped and he frowned, taking a step toward her and being glad to find that she did not move away when he did.

"I think we have finally managed to figure this baby business out" he smiled, taking her hand and Quinn blinked at him, tilting her head slightly.

"Marvellous"

"You're angry" he acknowledged with a sigh as he stared deeply at her.

"What gave it away?"

"Quinn... Please, I am just trying to do what is best" he frowned and she smiled tightly.

"I know Carlisle. I'm not angry at you... I'm angry at the situation." she sighed, stepping forward to place her forehead against his. "Spend tonight with me?... Please"

"Quinn" he breathed.

"Please"
