Esme smiled sweetly at Quinn as the blonde joined her side and she couldn't help but return it as they turned to witness Bella's approach. The newborn assessed every inch of the room with her marvellous red eyes, a sense of bewilderment presenting on her features as she did so. Esme was the first to address her.
"Welcome to the family," Esme beamed and the brunette appeared hypnotised by their new appearances.
"You look amazing Bella" Alice continued but Bella only had eyes for one person, one who was currently turned away from her in the arms of Rosalie.
"Someone's been waiting to meet you" Carlisle assured with a bright smile on his face as he looked at the newest member of their family- equally as excited as the others to see her reaction to her child.
"Rose" Edward urged and the blonde vampire finally turned with Jacob close to her side to reveal Renesmee Cullen to her mother's eyes for the very first time. Those who had lived with the child through her first few days of life could see the way the child lit up at the sight of the woman she had been asking for all along, regardless of how much Bella had changed- Renesmee recognised her. The babbling of Renesmee made them smile and Edward had proud eyes as the child was reunited with her mother once more.
"What was that?" Bella questioned in shock when the baby pressed her chubby hand to her mother's pale cheek, a movement she had done throughout the past few days to all the family members she could touch.
"She showed you the first memory she has of you" Edward returned and Bella didn't so much as shift her gaze from the child she had fought and died for.
"Showed me it?"
"How do I hear thoughts? How does Quinn mind control? How does Alice see the future? And Jasper?... She's gifted." Edward stated calmly, the group easily softening their voices in the presence of the child. Bella was hypnotised by Renesmee.
"I've only been out for three days?"
"Her growth rate is unprecedented" Carlisle sighed, pulling Quinn close to her side. Time- impossibly- was the one thing that the immortal vampires no longer had on their side. If Renesmee continued to grow at such a pace, it was uncertain how long they would have with her.
"Alright" the wolf decided, reaching over to take Renesmee from her mother and Edward was instantly displeased as Bella was confused. "That's enough experimenting for one day."
"Jacob" the mind reader clipped. "She's doing great"
"Alright... Don't want to push it though" he tried again, continuing to reach for the babbling infant who was oblivious to the rising tension around them.
"What's your problem?" Bella persisted, easily agitated in her new form.
"Oh," Rosalie smirked, patting the wolfs shoulder- much to this displeasure. "Do tell her, Jacob" Quinn couldn't help but grin at her sister's words. Quinn and Rosalie were similar in more ways than just their appearance. Carlisle tugged her into his chest softly and she knew that it was a humorous warning.
