Quinn lingered, staring at a tree as Edward spoke to Bella, doing her very best not to listen because she physically did not want to hear what he had to say. Eventually, he flashed away into the forest and Quinn sighed, turning to the utterly shattered expression of Bella Swan, she looked as if someone had torn out her heart and smashed it into a thousand pieces.

"Quinn?" her voice shuddered hauntingly as she stared at the new blonde vampire who looked equally as sad. "Is this real?" her voice had dropped to a deadly whisper that Quinn heard easily, if she was human, the sound would have given her a chill.

"Bella, I'm so sorry." the blonde attempted, walking forward and taking the brunette's hands that had grown so cold, they almost matched the temperature of Quinn's herself. "I am so sorry... I don't think that there is anything I can say to make this better, but I need to tell you how important you have been to me. You were the first person in years that I truly wanted to be friends with. There's something so beautifully special about you Bella and I hope you have the best possible life. I know we haven't spent much time together recently, because of everything that happened with James but I need you to know that you are like a sister to me. I was prepared to die in the face of James for you. Please, keep yourself safe... I would hate for anything bad to happen to you."

"Quinn, please. Please don't go."

"I'm so sorry Bella. I fell in love with Carlisle Cullen. He owns my heart, I have no choice but to follow him wherever he goes... I know you understand Bella."

"I do" she hiccuped.

"I love you Bella"

"I love you, Quinn," she replied strongly and the pair hugged, Quinn willing for Bella to be okay. If Quinn knew how to use her powers, perhaps she'd have tried to use them now but she was sure that Bella and her unique mind would be immune. With a single, lingering kiss on the cheek, Quinn flashed away as well, leaving Bella on the lighted trail back to her house. She was so close to home, Quinn could visibly see the light from the sitting room window as she finally left.

Quinn had a heavy heart as she neared the Cullen house and she wanted to hate Edward for what he had done to Bella. She could only imagine the pain they were both in now because even the thought of never seeing Carlisle again was agonising. But she couldn't despise Edward, he was her saviour and when her eyes finally met his, where he was sat in his silver Volvo on the long drive, she knew she would never hate him as much as he currently hated himself.

The cars were all lined up, her Audi behind the Volvo and Carlisle was hastily packing everything into the trunk. Behind, in Carlisle's Mercedes, Esme was waiting patiently to go. Rosalie was still arguing with Alice under the evening light, their mates at their side. It would seem that they were arguing over a small backpack and Emmett rolled his eyes, grabbing it and drop-kicking it away as Alice screeched angrily. Jasper grabbed his wife around the waist as she lunged at Emmett and the four exchanged glances.

With a sigh, Jasper forced Alice to sit in the passenger seat of the red BMW as he took up the driving position, graciously accepting the keys from Rosalie who hopped into the jeep-with a boost up from Emmett- the rowdy man sitting heavily in the drivers side. The jeep burst with energy and they were soon ready to go.

"Ready love?" Carlisle smiled across at his girlfriend as he turned the key. They would take it in turns to drive. She merely nodded at him with a small sad side as the procession down the driveway finally began, the blonde looking back sadly at the house as they left Forks Washington for the final time. The Cullens drove at dangerous speeds but they were utterly uncaring as they raced down the roads. Esme quickly dropped to the back of the pack, Emmett revving forward to try his luck at beating Edward. The mind reader was having none of it as he sped forward even further. Quinn suspected that the racing occupied his troubled mind as they got further away from Forks.

"Is it bad that it feels strangely liberating? Leaving?" the blonde sighed, breathing in the pleasant new fragrance of her car as Carlisle smiled, his hand holding hers in her lap as he drove with one hand.

"I understand it, you're escaping a place that brought you pain."

"It brought me happiness too... It introduced me to you" she smiled and he couldn't help but return it, she was sure he'd blush if he could.

"You're incredible Quinn O'Connell, I hope you know that, love"

"Coming from you" she scoffed and he chuckled, watching as she fiddled with the radio, when the music finally came through, she sang along eagerly, her stunning new voice filling the car. She was an average singer as a human, which meant that her singing was stunning now and he listened to it, wordlessly. Carlisle Cullen was beyond elated as he drove, despite the sadness of leaving, they now had the opportunity to experience the world. Being in Quinn's presence was the most joy and peace Carlisle had ever experienced and he would forever be grateful for Forks Washington, for giving him his forever love.
