Quinn O'Connell was the pretty girl in pink, the homecoming queen and all-around straight-A student. Most people saw her as uptight, narcissistic but most importantly... They saw her as a control freak with her perfect blonde hair and patronising sm...

The sunset was so beautiful that day as they listened to the water gently lapping at the beach. Carlisle and Quinn sat beside one another on the sand as the day drew to a close, a chessboard between them which Quinn scrutinised carefully, doing her very best to beat him but Carlisle was a master chess player thanks to all of his years practising and he even had the nerve to read a book on his lap as she calculated her moves.
"Did you know, Alice has an entire scrapbook ready for when we decide to get married" Quinn giggled as she finally made her move. The blonde girl was lying on her front of the picnic blanket, propped up in her elbows as she watched him intently. The older vampire looked at the board for only a second before making a move and taking one of her pieces, leaving her to think up her next move all over again.
"And what would you like?" he questioned and she looked up at him with a frown. "Your opinion is the only one that matters, Darling. If you'd like to dress up in Halloween costumes and go bowling for the reception, I would be more than happy for you to do so" he grinned and she laughed softly in return as she moved a piece.
"It does sound awfully appealing" she giggled as they continued to play the game which had already been going on for half an hour. Either she was getting better at it, or Carlisle was humouring her. She wasn't yet sure which was the case. "But no. I want you to decide Carlisle, for once... I want it to be all for you. You've certainly been waiting for long enough" she teased and he chuckled as he looked up from his book to move a piece.
"You would be happy with a traditional British wedding?" he frowned and she smiled brightly as she nodded.
"Of course I would, Carlisle. I can't imagine your wedding being any other way" she beamed up at him and he couldn't help but return it. Everything felt so peaceful on that day as they sat across from one another and discussion of their future wedding only increased their excitement for the day.
"Thank you, Quinn. You don't know how much that means to me. But, I do truly mean it when I say that I want you to make decisions. I know that... Well, you like to be in control" he winked and she smiled shyly because it was absolutely true. It was one thing that would never change about Quinn O'Connell, her love for control. And Carlisle knew Quinn better than anyone in the world.
The blonde girl blinked in shock at the chessboard for a long moment, deeply analysing each piece as she looked up at her fiance who had his eyes pinned on her face.
"Check" she whispered and he followed her gaze down to the board, reading it quickly within a second before looking up at her and grinning at the excitement on her face. In the next moment, the board didn't matter at all as she threw herself across it, tackling him into the sand and he chuckled as he caught her, rolling slightly from the force before their lips met passionately in a heated frenzy.
