"So, everything is pretty straightforward, this whole place is just one big loop

"So, everything is pretty straightforward, this whole place is just one big loop... The Cafeteria is down this corridor and on the left... The library is the same on your right. Cafeteria food is... semi-reasonable, I would absolutely recommend the salad bar but do not under any circumstances, go near the meatloaf." Quinn babbled as the dragged Bella along, her voice like a well-rehearsed song as they passed endless identical doors and the new girl strained to keep up with all the new information. Quinn O'Connell was polite as far as acquaintances went, but never did she stray into friendship territory. Despite her years spent alongside the Spartan supporters, not a single one of them could say that they genuinely knew Quinn. "Come on Isabella"

"Oh, it's--uh, It's just Bella" the brunette stuttered, speaking for the first time since they met in the reception area. Quinn blinked her startling blue eyes for a moment as if suddenly noticing the girl on her arm before shaking off the realisation and continuing.

"If you go to the skinny blonde lady on Tuesday in the cafeteria, she always gives extra helpings. But Maura, the main dinner lady... well, you'd be hard pushed to get more than a spoonful." Quinn spoke so freely, openly, her voice seemed to resonate through the now-empty corridors but she wasn't even slightly alarmed. "The library is actually the loudest room in the school and if you want to join any of the sports teams, you'll have to let coach Clapp know, pronto. The seasons already in full swing for most sports, I hear they're still after some volleyball girls but spaces fill up fast. I'm pretty close with the coach, so I can get you a tryout if you're desperate?"

"Oh, uh, no no" Bellas voice was shocked, flustered as she was dragged along, the three sheets of paper in her hands feeling like a hundred as she struggled to keep ahold of them.

"I'm a senior, you're a junior so I doubt we'll be seeing too much of one another but if you need something, just ask anyone and I'm certain they'll be able to give you my number" something about the statement screamed at being egotistical but the way she said it was absolutely opposed, because it was in fact, completely true. "Here we are, your second period, you're about five minutes early" she stated as the bell finally rang. "But with all this lot bustling about the place, and being new... well, better to be early"

"Oh, um, thank you, Quinn"

"You're very welcome Isabella, see you at lunch" she smiled and turned, her blonde ponytail swishing as she bubbles away.

"Oh no, it's-" the brunette sighed as she trailed off, seeing that the girl was already gone. "Just Bella" being alone for the first time since she arrived, Bella felt instantly lonely with the lack of her new tour guide. Though, somewhere between all the babbling nonsense that Quinn had spewed, came the realisation for Bella that Quinn O'Connell was a good human being. And she now had at least one person that she could trust in this place.

By the time that the lunch break had come around, Isabella Swan was proud to say that she had managed to make a few more friends, of course, hitting someone painfully in the back of the head with a volleyball was not how she ideally planned to bond with the people of Forks but as she proceeded down the corridor and to the left with the baby faced Mike Newton at her side, she was at least safe in the knowledge that she was no longer alone.

The cafeteria was more or less, exactly how Quinn O'Connell had described and as Bella scooped a healthy portion from the salad bar onto her standard white plate, her doe eyes unconsciously swept the room in search of the blonde-haired beauty that had shown her the ropes. Quinn sat calmly beside one of the many windows that lined the wall, a rowdy babble of popular people crowded around her noisily and as they opted for sitting in odd locations, such as on the table itself or one another's laps, Quinn resorted to using one of the cheap plastic chairs in the way they were intended, her eyes scanning a book on the table as if the rest of the world didn't exist.

There was something so hauntingly beautiful about Quinn O'Connell, maybe it was the way that she never let anybody get too close or the eerily perfect image that she portrayed. But Bella- who had somehow grown a knack for assessing people in her shyness- couldn't help but see something off about the blonde girl. As if she could feel a gaze on her, Quinn's ocean eyes flashed upwards, sweeping the area and falling on Bella Swan. Smiling sweetly, politely, she shot the brunette a delicate wave and went back to her reading.

"That's Quinn O'Connell" Jessica Stanley informed hastily as if she was desperate to be the one to gossip. Bella's brown eyes flickered over to the girl that was talking in acknowledgement of her words before she went back to slyly glancing at the blonde valedictorian. "She's the mayor's stepdaughter. Her mom married the mayor about five years ago, she was a doctor, everyone absolutely loved her."

"Was?" Bella questioned awkwardly, chewing on her lip.

"Yeah, her mom died like three years ago" Jessica shrugged.

"Jess, come on, be a little respectful" Angela chastised awkwardly, being the only one on the table who wasn't obviously engrossed with Quinn O'Connell's life like some twisted tv show.

"Right yes, well... Really shady circumstances. Like, how does a healthy doctor just drop off the planet?" Jessica lapsed back into being disrespectful and Angela huffed.

"I heard that Jensen Hargreaves had her taken care of," Mike whispered lowly.

"Oh, come on dude, that's a load of shit and you know it" Tyler scoffed. "She had some sort of illness or something"

"Nah, it was a car crash" Eric frowned and it quickly became obvious that nobody in town truly knew what happened to the good doctor Elizabeth O'Connell.

"Anyway, well Quinn's dad was some deadbeat, left when she was a little kid. And so when her mom died, Quinn got like... adopted I guess by Mayor Hargreaves." Jessica concluded the story, just giving greater depth to the blonde girl by the window.

"There are worse fates" a new voice chipped in as Lauren Mallory flicked her platinum blonde hair over her shoulder.

"Hargreaves seems strict as hell" Eric shook his head, his styled hair swishing around his head.

"He's also absolutely loaded and not too bad on the eye" the blonde smirked and Bella couldn't help but feel slightly sickened by the thought of it, the mayor of the town that everyone had their eyes set on.

"That's vile, Lauren" Angela giggled, the mood lightening and in the next moment, their attention got pulled away to some new gossip as a cluster of stunning teenagers came strutting through the door with their heads held high.
