Quinn O'Connell was the pretty girl in pink, the homecoming queen and all-around straight-A student. Most people saw her as uptight, narcissistic but most importantly... They saw her as a control freak with her perfect blonde hair and patronising sm...

"Right, race you" Emmett shot her a brilliant beam and she just returned with a look of horror... Before promptly remembering that she was a vampire now and therefore, could run fast as a bullet. Steeling herself, she prepared to jump out of the window and race through the forest. Quinn knew that she should at least be slightly afraid of falling to her death but she was immortal now and felt oddly indestructible. As soon as the word 'go' ghosted across his lips, they were off and she was bolting around the forest joyfully, taking in all the beautiful sights and sounds. "Left" he instructed from behind as she followed his actions.
The Cullens all ran differently, styles for them. Carlisle ran relatively slowly in comparison to the others, but he ran smoothly, almost professionally. Jasper ran arms by his side like a military walk sped up, Alice danced along, Rosalie gliding, Emmett bounded angrily as if he was attempting to burn a trail into the earth, Edward sped like a train ahead of everyone else and Esme was the slowest of all but always ran as if she was trying her hardest to keep up. Quinn discovered quickly, that she was one of the faster ones, leaving Emmett behind without even having to really power to race. She ran with joy on her face, leaping over everything that stood in her way rather than around it. She was beautiful to watch, if only you could keep your eye on her for long enough.
"Alright, alright, you win." Emmett groaned, her sharp ears catching it even though he was far behind and she returned to his side, practically bouncing in the excitement of her new life. "Jeez, girl, you've got to race Eddie, put him down a peg or two." she giggled and bowed cheekily, to which he roared with laughter.
"How come you're the one teaching me?"
"I never got my chance to be vamp teacher, now is my turn" he beamed "Plus, I had to flip a coin with Rose for it. She really wanted to be the one to show you the ropes so she is pissed with me right now. Something tells me I won't be getting any anytime soon." he sighed as he thought about it and she laughed again. Everything seemed lighter now, happier, as if nothing was an issue.
"How is Bella doing?"
"They brought her back from Arizona yesterday, I think she's at home still. She's a bit beaten up but her body was nothing compared to yours, you looked like he was trying to turn you into a sieve, had about fifty stab wounds in ya." Emmett informed her and she just sighed because it didn't matter now.
"Oh well"
"Hmm, right. You're a weird vampire Q, but we'll just roll with it. Now, you've gotta stalk the Bambi, grab the Bambi and eat it. Comprende?" he smirked and she merely rolled her brilliant red eyes at him.
"Sure, because that's so helpful." she scoffed.
"Just stand still for a minute, and listen, and I mean really listen to the forest around with. When you catch the sound of movement, you'll smell it next and what you're got to do is run and grab it. your instincts will tell you what to do." he urged and she sighed, rolling her shoulders as she listened to the forest around her. It was only in that moment that Quinn noticed she was dressed in a tight black dress and as much as that irked her, she chose to ignore it as she breathed in the smells of the forest.
The second she caught it, she was off and the buck stood absolutely no chance as she tackled it, snapping its neck in a smooth motion to dig her teeth into its neck, it was as easy as biting through butter and tasted a thousand times better. A single taste of blood in this new body told her that she was addicted and she drank it clean, hopping up and discovering that her appearance was perfectly intact. Quinn was a natural at the vampire game, that much was clear. One wouldn't even know that she was a newborn.
"Right, catch a few more before we head on back. Don't want you ripping Carlisle's head off" she glared playfully at her vampire mentor and got to work, having the time of her life.
"This doesn't feel very vegetarian" she remarked as she gestured to the second buck she had easily devoured. That was her fill and she was feeling oddly sloshy.
"Yeah, well, better than the alternative kid, let me tell you" Emmett promised her and held out his arm for her to loop hers through as they headed back to the house. It was easy to find despite how far they had ran. The world above with painted in darkness now and it brought only new beauty for Quinn to become distracted with. "Come on Q, the others want to see you" he dragged her along easily as if she weighed nothing and she put it down to her not putting in any effort to resist. Quinn was faster but Emmett was stronger, even if she was a newborn.
The house was beautiful in the darkness, somehow even more so than it had been in daylight and Emmett continued to drag her along, all the way up the front steps no matter how hard she tried to resist. She wasn't completely sure why she was even resisting. Evenutally they reached the front door and she laughed at his annoyance, that was why she was resisting, just to get on his nerves and his frown dropped in a second, leaving him chuckling with an eyeroll as they walked inside.
