The sun felt so marvellous on her skin that day, despite her inability to truly feel its strength, the way it glittered down so incessantly couldn't possibly fail to draw a shimmering grin to her lips. The blades of grass that swayed around her head like a miniature forest were a halo woven through her carelessly splayed blonde curls. The blonde of her curls was streaked through with a warm chocolatey brown, dazzled by the sun.

The skin that stretched so immaculately over her shimmered with a thousand impressive diamonds though felt so perfectly smooth as his thumb traced over her hand, the hand that held the equally beautiful ring he had purchased for her. Quinn O'Connell was a sight to behold, splayed so lazily in the emerald of the grass beside the flowing waterfall.

And she turned to him, with her golden eyes on his face; Carlisle felt like the luckiest man in the world and as he reached his fingers up to take her cheek longingly- He knew that he was. Carlisle knew her lips so well, they were sculpted for his own, the two of them made perfectly for the other. Though, despite the familiarity of the kiss- He could never get enough.

Carlisle Cullen was intoxicated by Quinn O'Connell, completely and utterly blissfully in love. And she had an equal, irrevocable undying love for the man who lay so gently beside her in the sun. Quinn O'Connell knew for certain as she assessed his handsome features, from his sharp intense jaw to his flock of perfectly tamed white-blond curls- That she was the luckiest girl in the world.

Peace suspended over them like a cloak and for once, they were perfectly content with the life that rattled on around them. There were no nomads, newborn armies or wolf packs standing in the way of the love they felt so intensely. Now, they felt only bliss and serenity. It was hypnotising happiness. It was a feeling that Quinn knew she wanted to feel for all of eternity.

Quinn Grace O'Connell had been born in the face of adversity, and she had defeated it in every wave it came. Now she had a family at her side who would make it a thousand times easier to do so. Every time Quinn O'Connell thought her life couldn't possibly improve any further- it did. She'd finally found her purpose, she'd finally found her family and in doing so... She had found herself. The Cullens made every ounce of pain, every tear, scream and agony; completely worth it. She had battled it all and they were her reward. He was her reward.

"What are you thinking?" Carlisle had one of those voices you could listen to for hours, the doctor could read a shopping list and make it sound like music. And if only she could get him to sing; she was positive the sound would bring her the closest she could ever possibly be to the peace of sleep.

"I am thinking that everything was worth it" she breathed, expelling all the pain of the past to breathe in the happiness of the now. "My father's absence, my mother's death, my step fathers torture and my own transformation... Was all impossibly worth it" Quinn sighed. "Everything happens for a reason, and this is mine" she promised, winding her fingers with his where they lay together in the grass and as she turned to him, she need only stare to tell him how much she loved him.

"You didn't deserve anything that ever happened to you, Quinn O'Connell. And I am going to spend every day of forever proving to you how much you are worth. Not because you need it... But because you deserve it. You deserve the best possible life you could imagine... Because that is what you have earnt" he returned and she smiled at him.

"This is it, Carlisle" she assured, turning and pressing her forehead to his in serenity. That was all they needed at that moment, one another's gentle touch.

"We have forever my love... But first" he chuckled, opening his eyes. "We have to be getting back to the house before a newborn Bella comes across us on her very first hunting trip" Carlisle smiled as he leapt to his feet with surprising energy, reaching down; he grabbed her pale hands in his own and pulled her upwards with ease into his chest. As Quinn listened intently, she could very easily hear the hammering of footsteps that indicated new arrivals which was why, without a single word more exchanged between the pair, they were off again.

The Cullen house came into view before either of them could truly even appreciate the exciting thrill of the run. Quinn's heels clicked across the decking as they made their way through the glass door but she was oblivious to the wobble that she should have from them as she smiled. Within the house, the Cullens were in anticipation and the main room seemed larger with the excitement that expanded within it.

"Your God-daughter wants you" Rosalie huffed. "She always wants you, Edward or Bella. Never her auntie Rosie"

"She wants you when you are away Rose" Quinn assured sweetly and her fellow blonde smiled at her as Quinn took a seat at her side. The rift caused by the bundle in Rosalie's arms had closed neatly the second Renesmee Cullen met the world for the very first time and it was the final completion of their family that brought them the most happiness.

"Hello, Beautiful" Quinn hummed to the baby, not taking the child from Rosalie's arm but smiling sweetly and running her finger gently across Renesmees cheek where she lay. The baby pressed her chubby hand against Quinn's cheek- completely defying the laws of natural three-day-old babies and Quinn blinked in a daze as she saw on repeat, the only memory the child had of her mother. "She's coming, Renesmee." and it was a silent promise they had given the child for the past few days. Bella was coming.
