Quinn O'Connell was the pretty girl in pink, the homecoming queen and all-around straight-A student. Most people saw her as uptight, narcissistic but most importantly... They saw her as a control freak with her perfect blonde hair and patronising sm...

"Edward" he was tense, driving in a robotic fashion, speeding through the backroads. It was a new week, a new Monday. And Quinn's first day back since the crash and everything that happened. Somehow, to Edwards own amusement, Quinn had been roped into going on a Junior greenhouse trip for extra credit in biology, which, she was currently failing.
"Hmm?" He was away in his own world, she could see it very clearly in his eyes from where she sat in the passenger seat of his shiny Volvo. She knew the questions that she was going to receive from showing up with him, but she couldn't bring herself to mind because she was happier now.
"What do you want me to tell Bella?... She's going to have questions." Quinn wondered, aware as he tensed somehow even further. He was currently a sitting statue behind the wheel but she knew she could trust him not to crash. Edward Cullen was the first person Quinn had learnt to trust in the past two and a half years... And it had only taken three days for their bond to form. "I know you care about her Edward... It wasn't me you were trying to save from that van collision." his golden eyes flashed over to her face, pooling a black but try as she might, she couldn't bring herself to be scared of him.
"I'm not safe for her," he grumbled, the world outside was wet, as usual in Forks Washington but it whirled fast too quickly for Quinn's blue eyes to keep up with. As he said that, all she could think about was how eager he had been to tell her all their secrets. "You're not like her, Quinn. We saved you, which makes us just like the rest of us... A survivor. You came from a rough place."
"I know Edward, I'm only with you because of what happened to me"
"You're wrong Quinn, you are here with us... Because of Carlisle. You can't understand it, I know that, but it's the truth. If Bella joins this family, it will be on me. She's got a perfect life ahead of her, I can't storm in and ruin it all for her. Because if I accept my attraction to her, for even a moment... It's going to change her fate entirely." he sighed, clenching and unclenching his hands.
"Edward. Some things are just meant to be. You're putting her first for the same reason that I did when that van came towards us... Because there's something special about her, she deserves life but there's no reason why you can't be the one to give that to her. Look at Rosalie, she was completely miserable with her immortal existence until Emmett came along... Maybe Bella will do the same for you."
"I truly want that to be the case, Quinn, I do. But I refuse to put her in harm's way. I care about her and I don't even know why." he sighed as they finally pulled into the Forks Highschool parking lot which signalled an end to their conversation. "Are you prepared for this?"
"Maybe all the ladies will be deterred Edward, seeing as you will finally have a girl on your arm." she winked at him, diffusing the tension in a moment and he scoffed, chuckling. Quinn O'Connell was something special, she brought out the best in his family and he could see that from only a moment. She was meant to be with them.
"Yeah, you wish" and they stepped out into the musty air beside the rest of the Cullens in Rosalie's shiny red car. And everything seemed to stand still for a moment, she could feel the eyes turn to her as the Cullens crowded around and for the first time in her life, Quinn O'Connell genuinely wished that she had been late to school.
"This is the closest you're gonna get to fame, Blondie, roll with it" Emmett smirked and dropped an arm over her shoulder, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Brilliant. Because all I ever wanted was fame. I was thinking, I don't know.... movie actress. Now here I am, famous, Cullen style" she patted his chest and stepped out from under his arm, closer to Edward who smiled down at her.
"Incoming" Jasper whistled from where he was pulling Alices backpack from the trunk, slinging it over his shoulder as the little pixie bounced on her feet. From the far corner of the lot, a rusty truck appeared, a pale brunette perched in the driver's seat and Quinn sighed at the sight of her.
"Edward, you failed to tell me what exactly you wanted me to tell her?" The blonde turned to her new family and Rosalie's face was suddenly cast over with a disgusted shadow as she glared evilly at Bella.
"Nothing" Rosalie merely hissed and flicked her hair over her shoulder. "Have a good day Quinn, I'll see you later." she sent her a smile reserved for her and stormed off as raindrops began to fall slowly. Emmett shot the blonde girl a wink and a salute before following behind her.
"Right." Alice clapped. "Fieldtrip" Quinn merely groaned.
"I hate Biology!" she growled, throwing her new bag over her shoulder and storming to follow Edward who was currently chuckling in amusement despite Bella staring intently at them from beside a blushing Mike Newton.
