"I met Emmett" Rosalie concluded, a dreamy smile on her face now even after all these years of being with him. That was the kind of love that Quinn dreamed of, the love that stood the test of eternity. Until she had seen the dreamy smile and heart-eyes of Rosalie Hale, she didn't know that that kind of love even existed. "Emmett taught me how to love again, to love him, to love myself. Maybe I don't trust humans because of what they did to me, but I trust him... With everything that I am. You will find that Quinn... Soon."

"How can you know that Rosalie?" Quinn frowned, looking down at her hands because, at that moment, eternal love wasn't what she was searching for. You can't love another until you learn to love yourself.

"Because Alice has seen it. There's a man... And he is going to love you endlessly, even while you can't love him. He's going to do anything for you, even if right now... You can't return the favour. But that's okay because one day, you're going to be his wife Quinn. He'll be patient because he loves you even now." Rosalie was smiling the kind of smile that showed pure and true happiness and Quinn's mind was spinning just at the prospect of that kind of love, the kind of love that exists even when you can't feel it yourself.

"Who is he, Rosalie?"

"You'll find out Quinn when the time is right" the vampire smiled but Quinn O'Connell already had an idea, she just didn't want to put much hope into it unless she was proven wrong in the future. So, she would accept everyone's encouragement to 'wait and see', he would come along. "You have to go and meet Carlisle now, he's been waiting patiently." Rosalie smiled and nodded to the door across from where they stood. The two blondes exchanged glances before Quinn nodded appreciatively and slowly made her way forward. The door to Carlisle's room was beautifully polished wood and she knocked tentatively. It was early in the morning now and Quinn O'Connell was still waiting to wake up, the entire night had felt like one big dream and as the door began to open, she was suddenly self-conscious about how messy she looked.

In the doorway, Carlisle Cullen smiled warmly and her heart fluttered, she could feel her attraction growing by every fraction of a second that she spent in his presence and it absolutely terrified her.

"Quinn" the sound of his angelic voice eased all her nerves in a second, his brilliant gold eyes staring into hers intently, he was waiting for an answer but all she did for a long moment, was stare. He was tall, especially compared to her, however, he would be considered short in comparison to the rest of his family. His slightly curled white-blond hair lay perfectly, a powder blue shirt complimenting his skin wonderfully.

"Carlisle" her voice was weak, there was no use in pretending anymore, in keeping up an act. The second she met the Cullens, they ruined all the lies that she had carefully constructed but she would forever be thankful for them.

"Would you like to come in?" he stepped back, leaving a wide space for her to enter and she did so carefully, the room was large, like her own and a beautiful array of pale tan and white tones. An entire wall was dedicated to hundreds of books from all the ages, neatly arranged. A single couch lay across the sidewall, a few papers scattered across but that was all. It was absolutely simple but elegantly so. It was calming. "Quinn, no one in my family... Your family now is going to ask you any questions you're not ready for. No one is going to pressure you, all they want to do is keep you safe... All I want to do is keep you safe." he promised her as she stopped at the back wall made of glass, looking out over the treetops and feeling on top of the world.

"I don't know how this happened" her voice shuddered as she spoke, crippling under the pressure of her stress. "I don't know... At what point... Everything suddenly changed path but... I feel like it had something to do with you." she turned to face him, her silhouette dancing from the sunrise, glittering through her curled blonde hair. "I'm not asking for answers Carlisle... I'm just asking for you to promise me something." and he made his way forward, despite how short of a time they had known one another, it felt as though they were friends, at least.

"Anything Quinn." he came to a stop in front of her and she reached out, grabbing his hand and pulling it upwards to hold it in both of hers. His hand glittered in the sun bouncing through the open window, the tinted glass kept them looking normal. She was utterly stunned by the beauty of his skin as her plain tanned hands held his. The cool of his skin was refreshing to her and she wanted nothing more than to stand there holding his hand forever.

"Promise me... That this is real. Just, promise me that you won't all leave me too." her eyes were dancing with tears, hot tears that made her image of him sway where he stood. But, through the tears, she could see his smile. He wasn't smiling out of sympathy, he was smiling out of compassion.

"I promise you, Quinn O'Connell... I'm never going to leave you. You have a family now." he spoke softly, this wasn't him being Doctor Cullen, professional and calm... This was Carlisle Cullen, real, personal and caring as his fingers curled to hold her hand in return, fondly. It didn't matter if this was the man she was destined to be with according to Rosalie, Carlisle Cullen made her feel calm as her hand slipped into his and they stood side by side watching the sun on the trees. Quinn O'Connell was at peace. "Are you hungry, Quinn?"

"Can vampires cook?"

"We can try"
