The world sounded so beautifully pain free, and she would swear she could hear every bird as it fluttered through Forks forest, every swirl of air and creek of branches. Immortality had breathed an air of beautiful new life into Quinn O'Connell and a mesmerising peach scent bathed her calmly, the scent of home. The further she reached and longer she listened, the more beauty her mind became aware of. The Cullen house lay silently upon its perch, seeming to hold its breath as it waited in anticipation for her to see the new world with her fresh eyes.
Every scent, every smell, taste, touch was heightened but there was something so beautifully charming about it as she bathed in the calm of the new world and eventually, she knew the time had come to face it. Her eyelids opened so effortlessly, blinking was so unnecessary now but it was an instinct, one she repeated a few times to fully come to terms with the clarity.
The ceiling of the peach room had once been such a perfect white slate to Quinn as she spent nights staring at it until sleep drew her into darkness. Yet now, she saw every dimple and crevice of it above her. Her fresh eyes saw every imperfection in the things they took in but it only heightened the beauty of it. It took a long time before Quinn noticed the open door and slight flowing breeze but as quickly as she noticed it, she was beside it, glancing through to the corridor beyond and there he was, waiting.
Carlisle had never looked as perfect as he did in her vision now. She could see every aspect of him, the shades of gold that created his eyes, each individual lash that framed it. And in those eyes she could see only adoration and awe, at herself she could only assume.
"Quinn" hearing her own name for the first time with new ears, from his tongue made her want to hum in joy as she made her way to him. Quinn was incapable of moving slowly now but it need not matter as she found herself beside him once more, the place she wished to spend eternity.
The first touch was sensational, the familiar cool of his skin was gone now and replaced with a brilliant likeness as she leant into the elegant softness of his fingertips. His flesh was like satin as he traced her now perfect cheek, somehow she knew to be careful with him and she acted as gently as her new body would allow, like handling a porcelain doll as she pulled him into a hug. A million scents washed over her, scents that were undeniably him and worked wonders on her emotions, more so than Jaspers gift could ever allow. He hugged her back just as gently, basking in the gentle feel of her touch until she backed away and he faced her stunning red eyes.
Carlisle couldn't bring himself to see those red eyes as a monstrous thing, not on Quinn they were only beautiful, the colour of a rose that sparkled like a ruby as he smiled at her and she returned it. Immortal life had been only kind to Quinn and she was more beautiful than ever before, a rival to Rosalie though Quinn herself would never admit it.
She still stood at a petite height, nothing would ever change that but she was curved now, in all the correct places. Beautifully carved by the gods with billows of blonde waves, they were darker now, a shade away from being considered brown but they suited her pale skin so wonderfully, flowing down around her hips. Every feature was perfected, drawn in the eyes of love, lips plumper and darker, an unnatural red despite her lack of makeup. She didn't need it anymore. Quinn was all things perfect in Carlisle's eyes.
"Carlisle" her voice had him melting on the spot. Her old voice would've done the same. She was like an angel and in that moment, he had absolutely no willpower to resist a single part of her.
"My love, you're awake" her grin made him feel as though his heart had started again, just to skip a beat and seeing it assured him that everything was going to be okay because they had one another. Quinn O'Connell always defied expectation and as she stood before him, elegantly calm as she took in the world with her new eyes, he knew she was going to do the miraculous. There had never been a savage bone in Quinn's body, and now it was clear. Quinn would not even be considered a newborn due to her calm, she seemed to have as much self control as he did himself.
"Carlisle" she repeated again, loving the sound of his name on her tongue and just as eagerly, she went to him, pressing their lips together. It was as though they were carved for one another, fitting together like puzzle pieces and as she moved so slowly against his lips, he knew she could be trusted to never hurt anyone. She held him with such restraint, unknowingly reserved as she kissed him gently. Gentle wasn't a component often associated with vampires but as she pulled back from the awe inspiring, firework kiss, Carlisle knew that this gentleness was just her. Quinn was just gentle by nature.
"Welcome back love" he smiled, hand running through the soft curls beside her face and she leant into the movement gratefully. "Everyone is eager to meet you again, but first you have to go hunting and there's someone very excited to teach you how." Even as she frowned, he found her beautiful and he nodded behind her, she saw Emmett Cullen.
With each new face she saw, it was as if meeting them for the first time. Emmett was as handsome as she had always thought, but it was a different sort of handsome now. Though, she still appreciated it.
"Right, little sister. I've been given permission to be your vamp mentor" Emmett smirked and it inspired the same expression to appear on her own lips in return.
"You'll be here when I get back?" She questioned Carlisle, worried to leave his side for even a moment, the mere thought of leaving Carlisle created a blooming pain in her heart.
"Always love. Go and have fun" he urged and she smiled in return before turning back to her very eager mentor.
