"Stop." Everyone around her was running and Quinn had no time to consider what was happening as Rosalie's arms were around her, pulling her back toward some trees.
"They were leaving. Then they heard us." Edward was a cluster of anger and nerves as he grabbed Bella and tried to pull her away. "We have to go"
"It's too late" stress lined Carlisle's voice and Quinn frowned as she instinctively pulled from Rosalies arms and went to him, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
"What's happening?" her voice was low, in fear and he took her cheeks softly, looking into those beautiful blue eyes.
"There are others, they're coming. I'm so sorry Quinn, I shouldn't have brought you here." he stressed in anxiety, fear running through his veins as he stared into her beautiful blues.
"It's okay, It's okay" she repeated in a rhythm and he sighed, nodding and breathing deeply to compose himself before turning to face the other end of the field. From beside her, Rosalie ripped of her coat quickly and shoved it into Quinns arms. "What?"
"Put it on, quickly, it will cover your scent" Rosalie begged, equal fear in her voice, she was terrified for her new family member and could only hope that Quinns unusual, unappealing blood would be enough to save her, pulling the coat on quickly, she did her best to stiffle her shivering of fear as she took to standing beside a tense Jasper. He looked down at her for a long moment before pulling her hat from her head and swapping it with his own, smiling despite the situation and if calmed her. She knew that he had something to do with it when calm bathed over her, she could breathe easily and her heart slowed.
When the others came, they didn't even try to act human as they glided along, dressed randomly and Quinn stood tall, perfecting her uncaring face as she stood between Emmett and Jasper, slightly behind where Carlisle was waiting to recieve the new vampires.
"I believe this belongs to you." the middle one announced and Quinn kept her gaze level, acting as confident as those around her despite the red eyes piercing back at them. It was clear that these vampires were different. He tossed the ball to Carlisle who caught it effortlessly. The vampires were of course, beautiful, despite how rogue they appeared.
"Thank you" somehow, carlisle kept his voice calm as he glanced back at them.
"I am Laurent. This is Victoria... And james." he announced.
"I am carlisle, and this is my family." he gestured casually at the many people around him.
"Hello"
"I'm afriad your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us." Carlisle was civil, as always, despite the threat they posed.
"I apologise. We were not aware that the land had been claimed." Jaspers hand on her back was soothing to Quinn who couldn't understand the calm that was washing over her despite the situation but she knew that it was the only thing stopping her heart from hammering loudly.
