"So you and Carlisle are...like... together? You and Edwards dad?" Bella questioned her blonde friend as they sat side by side in Bella's truck. Beyond the window, the sky swirled a dark grey, spitting with thunder and cracking with lightning. A storm was just beginning and they were on their way to the cullen residence. Bella and Quinn had spent the entire day together, yet, Bella was only now getting to the important questions.
"I don't expect you to understand Bella" Quinn sighed. "Take the next left" despite having been there before, Bella still needed the directions. "Sometimes, it just feels right and there's no explanation for it. Even when you feel like it should be wrong. That's how it feels with Carlisle, everything just fell perfectly into place when I met him and nothing else matters."
"No, I'm not judging you Quinn. Not at all. It's just all a bit hard to take in, isn't it?"
"I found my family here Bella, with these people." she gestured toward the house as they finally arrived and Bella stared into her eyes, nodding as she finally parked. "I'll see you later, okay? At the field. I just have to go and find Carlisle" she smiled and left her friend with Edward who just nodded down at his new sister. The blonde girl took the stairs quickly and barelled into her bedroom, finding Carlisle sat in her wicker chair, smiling.
"You seem happy."
"It's a good day." she returned and he smiled, finally coming toward her to place a kiss on her forehead.
"Wear something warm, I'll wait just outside." he promised and left her to change into the many layers of clothing Alice had left on the bed. The long sleeved thermal t-shirt allowed for her to wear one of Carlisle's baseball shirts over the top and she smiled at herself in the mirror, the shirt like a dress on her but she could smell his scent all over her and she marvelled in it as she brushed out her curls, pulling a baseball cap into her hands but not putting it on just yet.
"Beautiful" Carlisle commented to her when she stepped out of her door and into the hallway, he leant against the wall opposite her, now dressed up too.
"We match"
"We do" her smile was infectious, even to his immortal self and he pressed a kiss softly to her lips, slowly. "Now, let's go before Alice throws a fit" he chuckled, "You're going to have to let me carry you." he beamed.
"Fine, but don't drop me" she demanded and he chuckled before grabbing her softly, slinging her easily onto his back. When Quinn had locked herself in place securely, holding on to his muscular frame for dear life, he took of running, jumping through the doors in his room and running through the trees hastily as her eyes welled up from the sting of the air. When he jumped over a river, she gasped, tucking herself closer to his body, holding her hat onto her head in fear that she would lose it in the forest somewhere and he chuckled at her movement.
Shortly, it was over and Quinn looked up from his neck to find the vampires all crowded around in a field under the grey weather. Esme was the first to spot them and smile with a soft wave.
"Are you alright, love?" Carlisle questioned and she giggled when she found out why he asked, she was still perched carefully on his back and she soon allowed herself to drop back to her feet.
"I'm okay" she promised Carlisle, pecking his cheek before skipping off over to Jasper and Emmett who were throwing a ball between them.
"Hey mini Rose" Emmett patted her head, his wife glaring at him but smiling at the human from where she stood chatting to Alice. "It's a shame you can't play too."
"One day, and I'll beat you all"
"Oh yeah, we'll see kid. We'll see." Emmett glared playfully at her and she grinned in return as the roar of a car was heard and Emmett's truck parked carefully beside the treeline, Edward helping out a wobbly Bella. Quinn wasn't sure why they brought the car, rather than following Carlisle's method but she didn't question it.
"Bella" Esme sang as she and Edward approached them. "I'm glad you're here. We need an umpire and Quinn is biased."
"She thinks we cheat" Emmett smirked,
"Oh, I know you cheat" Esme returned quickly.
"I find it my judging right to deduct points from Emmett for being an arse." the blonde human beamed and Emmett glared playfully at her.
"This, is why Quinn's my favourite" Rose beamed and hugged the new Cullen member as the thunder clapped in the sky.
"Call them as you see them Bella"
"Good luck Carlisle" Quinn beamed and pecked his cheek.
"Hey, Q-tip, you're my personal cheerleader, I hope. I'm on team Carlisle." Emmett hollered and she glared at him playfully before smiling innocently the second Carlisle turned around. He merely chuckled at her antics as the game began.
"It's time" Alice announced and Rosalie was first to bat.
"Whoo, go on Rosie" Quinn cheered and the girl smiled at her before she began. Not two minutes later, Rosalie was out. It was going to be a very fast game. "You can stand with me Rosalie" Quinn smiled when the blonde was out and she huffed as she joined her side, accepting a hand hold from Quinn as they watched the others play.
