Quinn hummed to herself quietly as she sat in her car, breathing in the beautiful scent of freshness that lingered within it. She absolutely loved her car and currently she was sat waiting for Carlisle Cullen.... only, he didn't know that yet. Carlisle was currently working and after much persuasion and promises, Quinn had been allowed to leave to go and collect him. Granted, she being a newborn and going to a place filled with blood probably wasn't the best idea but as she sat there, in the darkness singing to the radio, she wasn't even interested as humans walked around the car. She was just waiting for him.

It was unusually sunny in Forks Washington, the Cullens hiding away from the sunlight but now, darkness had fallen and Quinn was left to reminiscence on her own for the first time since becoming a vampire. Quinn O'Connell didn't have a single regret about giving up her human life, she was made to be a vampire and she loved every moment of it. The seclusion didn't bother her now, because she had the Cullens with her over this particularly long Forks summer.

"Quinn?" Carlisle was in a state of shock as he took a seat in the passenger side. Earlier in the day, Rosalie and dropped him off on her way through town, his own car having work done on it by Emmett who demanded that it was out of date.

"Hi hunny" she beamed and leant across the central console to him, pressing a kiss to his jawline.

"What are you doing here? ... Not that I'm complaining of course."

"I wanted to drive" she pouted in return as she started the car and her smile instantly peeled back up at the sound of it. "It's a long story really. And it took a lot of persuading but I didn't kill anyone and I call that success"

"Quinn" he spoke in a warning tone but his smile was retained as she drove smoothly, happily. Only ten minutes later, did he realise that they were heading the wrong way. "Where are we going?"

"Shh, it's a secret. You weren't supposed to notice until we got there" she giggled. "It's actually only a three minute run from the house."

"What is?" He questioned again, suspiciously and she smiled sweetly but didn't speak. Finally, they turned a random corner that you wouldn't notice unless you knew it's exact location and the car seemed to jump slightly along the raggedy road before it finally came to a stop, from the trees alone, Carlisle knew this place was secluded and he took in the surroundings with eager eyes.

It was a beautiful white wooden cottage, almost Victorian by nature with luxurious emerald green foliage aplenty. It was old and overgrown but there was a certain beauty about it and eventually, his eyes took in a slanted wooden sign that read clearly. O'Connell.

"My grandparents, Samantha and Joseph O'Connell. They only had one child, my mother and when she fell pregnant with me so young, they just abandoned her." Quinn began to tell the story of the cute house. "They died when I was six and they had no one to pass it to... so ... they gave it to my mother. They had to, they knew that it was right and it seemed to rectify their cruelty in abandoning her. But she was defiant and so... she never moved there. When she married Jensen, she pledged to share everything with him and so when she died, this house was his. When Jensen was killed by James, his will came to light and... it turns out he's given this place to me. It's the only thing he gave me after all those years and I'm not sure why he gave it to me but here it is. Maybe he did it as one last token of love for my mother. But it's too beautiful to go to waste" she sighed and Carlisle waited for her to continue.

"Alice said to me today that, despite having the main house... they all have homes of their own to visit when they want some time away and I figured that... this could be ours? If— well, if you would like that? I know it's a bit of a mess and it's got history. But... but it's mine. I can just sell it if you want, we can get somewhere different" she sighed, her gaze shifting downward and he leant across, taking her face softly in his hands.

"It's beautiful Quinn. I would love for this to be our second home. We have the summer to fix it up?" He questioned with a small smile and she couldn't help but respond in equal measure, reaching across to smash her lips onto his with passion. She couldn't wait to have something that they could share, just the two of them, a place to call home.

"That's what I was thinking... would you like to have a look around?"

"Of course" he smiled and they stepped out together. Her shiny car seemed out of place on the small driveway but the place was undoubtedly stunning. The first gate they arrived at in the picket fence was painted a faded white, gate squeaking as they pushed through it and proceeded along the over grown cobbled path and up the porch steps. It was the house of Carlisles dreams, though he'd never openly admit it. There was a time when he would have done anything for this and a perfect little family. He knew that that was impossible now but Carlisle had Quinn and the other Cullens and that was more than enough.

Opening the front door softly, they passed through, it was all a great collector of dust but the flooring was beautiful hard wood, beaming appearing across the ceiling in the entrance hall and he knew instantly that it was larger than within than it had appeared. The large Victorian windows would allow in heaps of light when cleaned, the rooms were vacant but large and each had potential. It was stunning altogether.

"I love it" Carlisle reaffirmed and she couldn't help but beam happily.
