Athens was a whole different adventure for Carlisle and Quinn, they were living backwards but it was strangely exhilarating. The couple stayed in their apartment during the day and explored at night, seeing the excitement on her face every night as they entered the darkness was worth it all. They had left Alice and Jasper behind in France but it was a sweet goodbye because they knew that they would see one another again, in not too short of a time. They had been on a tour of Athens in the darkness, visited the theatre and drank fancy Greek wine laced with blood and now the pair sat side-by-side on the beach, watching the waves with their special vision.

"Dance with me?" Carlisle questioned and her gaze snapped up to where he was tapping away on his phone. Shortly later, music-filled their small empty area of the beach and she laughed at him as he pulled her onto her feet to dance with him.

They felt like school kids- young and in love but it was utterly incredible as they danced around together, wondering how they could possibly have survived in this world before they met. Carlisle knew for certain that his life was complete now, with Quinn O'Connell in it. She was worth all the pain and the waiting, and she made all the downfalls of immortality seem like an adequate price to pay for that love. If not for that vampire that bit him that night, Carlisle Cullen would've never met the love of his life.

"I never knew how good life could be," she remarked, somewhat sentimentally as they danced under the stars together and Carlisle listened to each word carefully, as if it was the most beautiful of music. Each word imbedded in his mind to listen to when they were inevitably parted once more. Carlisle couldn't even imagine doing a long shift at a hospital now, after spending the past few months at her side.

Vampires differed greatly from humans in many ways but one big difference was that they couldn't get bored as easily. There was a reason why vampires had soulmates and humans didn't necessarily and that was because, when you can spend forever with someone, you would certainly get bored of them eventually. Soulmates weren't like that. Carlisle could never get bored of Quinn O'Connell, every time his eyes landed on her face- he felt as much awe and happiness as he had the very first time. And she felt the same.

"You're worth living an eternity for, Carlisle" she smiled and he returned it as he rested his forehead against hers, despite what they were, travelling together made them feel so human. They felt so normal as if it was always meant to be.

"I love you, Quinn."

"I love you too, Carlisle"
