Quinn O'Connell was the pretty girl in pink, the homecoming queen and all-around straight-A student. Most people saw her as uptight, narcissistic but most importantly... They saw her as a control freak with her perfect blonde hair and patronising sm...

"Quinn" her voice brought the blonde girl back to reality in a second after her long week of paradise. Quinn had been living in a fairytale, the kind of fairytale that everyone had always thought she lived in before. The Cullens were special for more reasons than one, they were her family now, even after only a few days and despite the way Bella stared at her with her warm doe eyes, she knew that she would keep this secret for them, forever. "What--What... I don't... Why-- What?" Bella was as usual, a stuttering mess as they stood between the buses in the rain.
"It's a really long story Bella, can you just trust that I know what I'm doing? Trust me when I tell you that they are good people." Quinn spoke so sincerely, that it left Bella blinking in shock the second the words were out in the air.
"No, what? I don't understand Quinn. Why are you with them?"
"We're just friends Bella, friends who offered me a ride and I accepted." she shrugged as the rain beat down. A few feet away, the Cullens seemed to visibly relax as she confirmed that she could in fact be trusted with their secret.
"That's all? Just friends?" the Swan girl had her gaze pinned to her boots intensely as she said the words and Quinn couldn't help the grin that split across her lips at the sight of Bella's cringe. Quinn O'Connell had found herself smiling genuinely more often recently.
"Yes...Why?" She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow suggestively at Bella's very apparent bitter jealousy.
"N-nothing" she was blushing now, appearing as though she just wanted the world to swallow her up but as she stared at Quinn O'Connell, a visible change was clear. Quinn looked like an entirely different person, she looked healthier despite no one having described her as unhealthy before. Her clothes were nicer, newer. Quinn wore her hair down casually despite the years with a tight ponytail, her makeup was natural but beautiful. But the main change, was her smile. Quinn O'Connell had a smile every day, but this was different... This was something real and Bella couldn't help but return a smile. It was the kind of smile that you could trust.
"Yo Bella!" a voice hollered and they turned to find her friends calling for her from the bus. Bella turned back to Quinn with a gentle blush, somehow, despite spending much longer with her rowdy junior friends... Her new friendship with Quinn seemed more genuine, the kind of friend you would invite to your wedding.
"It's okay Bella, go to them. I'll catch up with you later" the brunette nodded appreciatively as she bounded away clumsily and Quinn was stood staring in her wake.
"Thank you"
"It's not my secret to tell" the blonde smiled upwards at Edward Cullen, her pretty blue eyes meeting his melted gold and he just smiled. In rare occurrences through your life time, you meet people who you know will have a huge impact on your future... Quinn and Edward knew that about one another. They were destined to become the best of friends, the friend that they both had always needed and it started in that very carpark, less than a week before.
"Sit with us?" Alice danced around in the wet air, dragging Jasper Hale along behind her. He accepted his fate, allowing her to hug his arm tightly and a small, tense smile spread on his lips. They were absolutely in love, it was the kind of love that Quinn wanted, she just wasn't sure that she was ready for it yet.
"Of course, I'm one of you now... Right?"
"Right" Edward shot her a brilliant crooked smile and practically dragged her onto the bus to sit beside him. Edward Cullen had been alone for a long time, Esme and Carlisle had always had one another, as best friends in this family of couples and Edward always felt alone. Quinn O'Connell came along to change the entire dynamic of the Cullen family but nobody hated her for it. Edward Cullen had found a best friend, Carlisle had a mate, Esme found a daughter, Rosalie a fellow survivor. Emmett and Alice found a new sister and Jasper found someone who could understand pain just like he could. Now, only time could tell what effect Bella Swan would have on the family.
"Do you think it will ever get out that I'm not living with Jensen anymore?" she couldn't help but ask the vampire beside her as they sat together on the bus. She was busy eating some strawberry laces as they chatted, much to the shock of everyone else on the bus. Alice had been the provider of the snacks and Quinn was most excited about it.
"Maybe... Would you care?" Edward frowned as he shifted in his seat by the window, handing her an earbud as he shoved the other in his ear to listen to his music to pass the time. Claire de lune filled their ears as they sat together.
"I don't think so. Everything is so new but... I love it" she grinned and he chuckled, shifting to lean against the window and instinctively, she rested her head on his shoulder. He didn't mind at all, this was his new best friend and sister and despite the blood flowing through her veins, he had absolutely no desire to sink his teeth into her as she closed her eyes, listening to his music. She had a peachy scent lingering around her now, the scent of home that calmed him as he breathed softly. Quinn was good practise in case he ever felt like getting close to Bella.
When Quinn's breath evened out, they knew she was sleeping. The blonde girl had been staying up late with the Cullens every night.
"Do you think that Carlisle will tell her soon?" Jaspers voice was low but his siblings heard clearly.
"He'll have to" Alice answered quickly. "I don't know why or how... But I know that something's going to happen and he's going to tell her."
"Is she ready for that kind of thing? Her emotions are all over the place." Jasper noted.
