"Alice" Edward warned when she suddenly popped up from nowhere but the short brunettes smile didn't falter, in fact, she was practically bouncing on her feet in anticipation. Alice was so incredibly happy about the world that it instantly rubbed off on the blonde girl. She wasn't sure how, but somehow in the past few hours, she had become one of them and the smile on Alices face assured her that it wasn't all a dream.

"It's okay Edward, she's safe with me." Alice smiled and held her arms out for Quinn. Glancing up at Edward slightly, and receiving an encouraging smile from the mind reader, she stepped forward and allowed Alice to hug her. It didn't matter to Quinn that Alice was a vampire, the pixie looked like she couldn't hurt a fly as she dragged along the blonde. "Walk with me"

"This is all so peculiar, Alice. Yesterday morning, I'd never even spoke to any of you and now, here I am... at your house." She frowned as Alice pulled her arm through the loop of her own. Alice was bouncing along happily as she guided the blonde girl to the back of the house, where a stunning garden lay. It was perfect.

"I know Quinn. But it will get easier. You were always destined to be one of us. I'm just sorry that I didn't see it sooner."

"I don't understand Alice. When you say that I'll be one of you.... do you mean that I will become a vampire?" She questioned, her mind recalling all the things that Edward had told her on the way to the house.

"Eventually.... does that scare you, Quinn?"

"Not as much as it should.... the thought of being that powerful... I don't know, the idea that I would be able to defeat monsters like Jensen without any effort.... I'd never intentionally hurt someone, not even someone as twisted as him. But the idea that I could. It's...."

"Exhilarating" Alice offered with a beam.

"Yeah, I suppose that's the word I would use" she giggled quietly. The silence of the garden was calming as the sun began to rise slowly over the horizon, pooling the night sky into a brilliant orange. "What's going to happen to Jensen?"

"You don't have to worry about that Quinn" her face became serious. "Our mother...Esme...she's going to adopt you"  somewhere in her mind, Quinn became sick with confusing jealousy at the thought that if Carlisle was their father, and Esme their mother... then Carlisle Cullen wasn't single after all.

"Do you think that Jensen will allow that? It seems.... too easy."

"It's okay Quinn. We have it all decided. You are important to us" Alice smiled happily as her warm golden eyes scanned over all the pretty flowers in the garden.

"Why?" It was the ultimate question that Quinn hadn't been able to solve on her own. Why were the Cullens doing this? Going out of their way, exposing their secret and opening up their family and their home... all for her. She doubted that it was all because of her past, they couldn't save every stray they came across.

"Quinn, I don't think that I am really qualified to tell you, it's not my secret to tell. But you will find out and it will be absolutely magical!" Alice practically squealed, she was clearly excited about all of this. "Of course, you'll live here with us. Oh, we haven't had a human here before, we can cook for you and buy you clothes, ooh and you can have a whole room made up for you. It's all so exciting Quinn. Your whole life gets to start again here. When is your birthday? we can have a big party!" Alice's eyes were wide with a childish excitement as she babbled on about all the plans she had for Quinn in the days to come. "You'll, of course, need a new wardrobe, ooh, and a new car! I'm sure Carlisle will be happy to take you to buy one."

"Slow down Alice" Quinn giggled, hooking her hand as she smiled, the two of them wandering casually down the garden path and Alice finally mellowed slightly as she looked into Quinn's aqua eyes.

"We're going to look after you Quinn, you deserve the entire world. I hope you know that." the fact that everyone kept saying that to the blonde was making her shy, and slightly uncomfortable because she didn't know that. She didn't believe that she had the right over anyone else. Quinn O'Connell didn't see herself as anything special. "So... What's your favourite colour, what's your shoe size? Clothes size? I am going to need to know all your dimensions, Quinn!"

"Alice" a voice chastised and they turned to find someone who Quinn knew should scare her... But somehow, he did not. Emmett Cullen was giant, over six feet tall and rolling with muscle but his cheeky, childish smile just warmed her heart. He smiled now as he approached them. "Don't scare her away... Come on Quinn, you must be freezing" he smiled and nodded toward the house, smiling at Alice, she followed Emmett.

"It was nice talking to you, Alice, I'll see you later?"

"Of course" Alice grinned.

"You survived Alice, which means you can survive anything" Emmett smirked and lead her through into the main room, it was giant and beautiful, like the rest of the Cullen residency. Quinn was quickly becoming overwhelmed with the entire thing. "Come to me and Jaz when you want to escape. The ladies can be a bit... Overbearing" he chuckled as he guided her to sit on one of the ginormous couches.

"Thank you all, for everything, you really don't have to do any of this."

"Sure we do, you're Carlisle's-"

"Emmett, try keeping your mouth shut for once." a southern drawl informed, smiled from across the room as Jasper Hale entered, dressed perfectly despite the late hour of the day. "Welcome home, Quinn" he nodded and took a seat beside Emmett. Jasper lacked his usual reserve now, he didn't look in pain as he often did at school. As curious as Quinn was about the end of Emmett's sentence, she didn't push it.

"Thank you, for letting me be here. You really didn't have to" she looked down at her lap but noticed them both smile at her. "...My blood, it--it's not a problem is it?" she questioned shyly, the supernatural world was all new to her now.

"Usually, human blood causes me pain to resist. You see, I am the newest to this... diet. I will tell you all about it, once you have settled here but know this, you're blood just smells beautiful Quinn. It smells like a perfume, you enjoy the scent but you'd never want to drink it. Your blood is rare but I truly appreciate it. You can live side by side with us, bleed out on the floor and I won't even thirst for it."

"That's... convenient" Quinn smiled and Emmett chuckled.

"Well... Now that you've met us... The fun ones, you know you're in good hands. We won't let anything bad happen to you Quinn" Emmett promised and with his bright grin and rolling muscles, she knew that he could stay true to his word. "Now it's time to chat to your adoptive mom" he nodded behind her and Quinn turned.
