For the longest moment, only the sound of the birds singing registered on Quinn's mind before she stumbled down to sit on the emerald green grass, drawing her knees close to her chest slightly chaotically, fingers twisting in a sickening dance through her blonde hair as her forehead pressed to her knees. The crackling of the fire that erupted didn't manage to warm her ice-cold body in even the slightest and as soon as the emotions swam through her- He was there.

Carlisle Cullen crouched in front of Quinn, his shiny shoes crushing the grains of grass as he hovered uncertainly before her. He made no move to touch her at that moment as he stood, hunched over and finally when he thought he'd lost her completely; Quinn O'Connell looked up to him with the glittering golden eyes he knew so well. And he was assured that she was there, and she was okay. Falling down onto his knees in the dirt, Carlisle reached up toward her face and his hands hovered there for a long moment, uncertainly.

When Quinn nodded her assurance, Carlisle had her in his arms in second, holding onto her as if she was the most precious thing in the world. And for a second, he looked like a child cradling their broken doll. The doctor's hands fluttered over her, not sure what to do or where to soothe first but the mere feeling of his arms around her gave her all the calm she needed. As the man watched with bright eyes, the crack along her face sealed finally and as his eyes lingered over the bite mark on her skin- the only thing capable of causing permanent damage- he knew that he wouldn't be letting her out of his sight anytime soon.

"You're okay, I've got you. I love you" he whispered all of his assurance in a bubbling stream and her eyes closed as she listened to the beauty of his voice.

"I'm sorry" was the first word she cracked out to him as they sat in the dirt together and nothing else registered in their minds as they sat in their own little bubble. "I didn't think I was going to be able to see you again, to hold you again" she cracked out as she wrapped her arms around his neck, holding on for dear life. It was perhaps uncomfortably tight but Carlisle didn't mind then as he fluttered his hands up and down her back in movements as delicate as a butterflies wings.

"None of this was your fault, Quinn. None of it. You were so brilliant, my love. We are all here because you brought us back. You're the reason we are okay again" he assured her, holding onto her with as much intensity as she held him. "I love you"

"I love you" she returned and pulled back, looking into his beautiful eyes. For a long moment, she thought that he was disgusted with her for the violation brought by Jensen but Carlisle smiled gently as he took her cheeks softly into his hands. Only as Quinn nodded did Carlisle lean across and press his lips to hers and her slightly muddied hand pressed to his neck, pulling him closer to her as her ring glittered in the sunlight.

"Are you all okay?" Carlisle wondered when their reunion was finally over, they had been frozen for less than an hour but in their helplessness, it had felt like an eternity. Pulling Quinn to her feet beside him, Quinn assessed his family.

"He's gone, Quinn. You defeated him" Rosalie breathed out in pride and Quinn's eyes watered as she nodded, accepting the bone-crushing hug that she offered and they all mutually knew that Quinn and Rosalie would always have a place in their hearts for one another due to their likeness. Nobody could ever understand one another in the way that the two blonde vampires did and that was a bond that could never be broken.

"Bad Ass, Q, like always" Emmett complimented her when Rosalie pulled away and the older of the two vampires rolled her eyes as she hit her husband lightly in the chest but Quinn grinned and accepted his high five. In the act of killing her demons, Quinn had abolished the darkness in her mind and she felt so free as the fire beside them burnt on.

"Are you okay, Quinn?" Esme ushered protectively, hands taking the girls shoulders as she assessed her with a motherly gaze and Quinn smiled back with a bright intensity.

"I'm better than okay" she assured and the matriarch grinned as Jack nodded respectfully at the blonde girl. They didn't get much more time to speak to one another as Alice barrelled toward the blonde, tightly wrapping her in a hug and rattling off a thousand words a second.

"Alice, I have no idea what you're saying" Quinn giggled as she finally pried the clairvoyant away from her and the little vampire huffed into a pout as she looked over her shoulder to Jasper who stood with his arms crossed.

"We're matching now, Q" he pointed to his neck and she laughed with an eye-roll as she hugged him around the waist and he returned it brotherly. "It's good to see that you remembered at least some of the things I taught you" he teased and she laughed before turning to the final couple. Her heart dropped when her gaze landed on Bella and she instantly felt bad all over again. The human, seeing the sadness in her friend's eyes, attacked her in a hug instantly.

"I'm so sorry Bella."

"What? No, I'm sorry, Quinn. I'm sorry you had to live with that for so long, that you had to fight him every day. I'm here right now because of you. Thank you" Bella breathed out as she pulled back and Quinn breathed out in relief as she pulled Bella into a tight hug once more. Looking over the brunette's shoulder as they hugged, Quinn's eyes landed on Edward's faces and a thousand silent thoughts were exchanged between them in seconds. The mindreader nodded at her once, firmly and assuringly and she knew that everything was okay. Edward and Quinn didn't need hugs and words, their expressions were enough.
