Quinn O'Connell was the pretty girl in pink, the homecoming queen and all-around straight-A student. Most people saw her as uptight, narcissistic but most importantly... They saw her as a control freak with her perfect blonde hair and patronising sm...

Quinn hovered within the doorway of Edwards bedroom for a long moment, watching him. The newly wedded man was as still and hauntingly beautiful as a Greek statue as he faced away from her, perched on the edge of the large bed he had purchased for Bella with his head in his hands. And Quinn did nothing but stare for the longest moment. On many occasions, Edward had helped Quinn through the hardest times in her life and as she saw the tense muscles in his back- She knew that it was her turn to return the favour.
"Are you against me too?" his voice was like static, completely monotone and somehow that managed to reflect more pain than the broken stuttering ever could. There was something so utterly human about the way he straightened where he sat and allowed his hands to drop into his lap. "Rosalie is team Bella all of a sudden and Emmett follows her wherever she goes. I haven't even seen Alice and Jasper since I've gotten back. Esme wants to do whatever she can to provide Bella with what she needs and Jack has gone to stay at your cottage because he can't stand to be around the blood all the time, Carlisle is downstairs finding a way to save that thing. How did this become a battle, Quinn? How did I become the bad guy all because I want to keep my wife alive?"
"Edward" the blonde vampire finally sighed out as she made her way around the bed to perch beside him though she didn't look at him as she assessed the treetops through the glass window with a clear gaze. "This isn't a battle, we're all on the same side here. Everyone wants Bella to live. Rosalie is just on Bellas side because there is a baby involved, Ed. The one main reason who Rosalie hates what we are so bad is because she can never have children. Bella has that chance now, you have that chance now. Which is why Rosalie is protecting Bella so much. Bella has the chance to have what the rest of us don't have a chance of.
And Emmett loves Rosalie unconditionally, I know you understand that. He's had to watch her hate what she is for all this time. He hasn't been able to give her the one thing she wants the most so of course, he is on her side when it comes down to this, Edward. He just wants to see her happy. And this is the thing that has finally brought Bella and Rosalie together." Quinn huffed for a moment before continuing.
"Alice and Jasper are at the cottage with Jack, by the way. Alice is having headaches... You know what she is like when she can't see, and Jasper wouldn't ever leave her side. Alice is of much the same opinion as you, she doesn't like the unknown. Jasper, he doesn't trust in something that is half-vampire that we haven't previously ever heard of. Esme isn't just doing this for Bella, Edward. She's doing this for you too. You have always been upset about not being able to give Bella a child and now you can. Esme sees that. You know how Esme feels about this kind of thing, Ed." she breathed and he nodded but didn't look at her.
"And you and Carlisle?" he urged.
"Carlisle is compassionate, and he's a doctor. He will always work in his patients best interest. If this is what Bella wants then he will do his best to provide that for her. He's very stressed" Quinn sighed at the thought of it, his stress only fueled her own even more. The blonde girl looked around the room that was bathed in the warm glow of the lamplight. Today was Edward and Bellas first full day back from their honeymoon and it marked the day that Bella's baby had kicked hard enough to leave a bruise. It already wasn't looking good. "Jack, Alice and Jasper will be back tomorrow anyway, Esme wants the family to stay together."
"How do you feel about all of this, Quinn?" he finally looked at her with pain-filled eyes and her gentle smile quickly reassured him.
"I don't know what to think, Edward. I know that this is something that Bella wants but... I'm not the best at sympathising with her on this regard. I've never even considered the possibility of children. When I was human, I wasn't exactly in the place for it. Was I? And then the next thing I knew, I was a vampire so it wasn't even possible. Carlisle has always been enough for me." she blinked, considering it deeply. "I don't consider this baby a monster like you do, I know monsters. But I do understand how important this is to you. I'll always be on your side Edward. You don't have to be the bad guy in all of this. Bella has made her decision now... And you made a vow to love her in sickness and in health."
"She's choosing that baby over me," he whispered in a shattered voice. "She is choosing to leave me for a baby."
"Edward. Nobody is choosing anybody. She loves you, and you love her. She is just trying to do what is best for both of you" Quinn assured and pulled him into a tight hug, one that he undoubtedly needed as he melted into her, holding on to her for dear life as if she would vanish if he lapsed his grip. And that was the first time Quinn saw Edward Cullen cry.
