Quinn O'Connell was having the best week of her life

Quinn O'Connell was having the best week of her life. On Thursday lunchtime, the realisation finally dawned on her that it was all real, that she was finally safe and free after all those years of pain and torture and the megawatt smile she wore that day was outstanding. But, as with all things... no happiness came without consequence.

"Quinn, Hey!" the voice was sharp, calling her out through the crowd as everyone bustled to their next lessons. Turning, she came face to face with Maddison Grey, eyes blazing and lips taught angrily. Maddison was very evidently angry, Quinn just couldn't figure out why that was. Her friend grabbed her arm tightly, dragging her along through the crowd as Quinn's short legs stumbled to keep up. In a desolate corridor, they finally stopped and Quinn was left frowning in confusion.

"Maddy? What's wrong?"

"Oh don't 'Maddy' me, you little bitch."

"Wh-what?"

"Oh, I'm sorry... Were you under the impression that we were friends? Yeah, well not anymore! What? You're a Cullen now, huh? You think that you're better than the rest of us. Oh, Jensen told me all about it." the brunette was smirking and Quinn's brain whirred, attempting to keep up with her.

"What?" her voice was just a whisper.

"He was so upset, he phoned me to tell me that his precious little Quinny had run away, and he, being the good man that he was, let her go." her eyelids fluttered. "But don't you worry, Quinny, because I've been giving him all the things he's been missing," This is where Quinn cracked, scoffing with an eye-roll.

"You are such a fucking idiot, Maddison."

"Oh, no I'm not. I know everything, he indulged all his darkest secrets to me, you see. He told me all about his pesky step-daughter who tried for years to seduce him, never interested in any other boys, only her step-daddy. He told me that he tried his best to resist her as she came onto him time and time again but in the end, he gave in to his natural urges. He's brilliant in bed, isn't he Quinny? He told me how upset he was that you left... See, you completely manipulated the poor man. So, I wonder what Forks High School will have to say about their senior golden girl, Quinn O'Connell, the psycho step-daughter."

And she snapped.

Grabbing Maddison, she slammed her against the lockers, the brunette was in a state of shock, merely staring as rage span around in Quinn's eyes and her adrenaline-pumped, holding Maddison angrily by her ridiculous designer top.

"You don't know anything! You stupid bitch! All you've ever wanted to do was ruin my life, you didn't know that I never gave a shit what you thought or what you wanted because my life was already ruined. And now? You're sleeping with a sadist! A rapist who molested and abused his stepdaughter for three years. Do you think that you're something so special? Huh?! Well, I'm failing to see how you're different from any of the rest of the harlots that waltzed through Hargreaves House, hoping to become something special. That is the truth. You've spent the past three years jealous of a girl who's being raped every night by her dear old stepfather!"

"Quinn" The voice didn't come from the direction she expected, Jasper suddenly appeared behind the blonde girl. "You're hurting her."

"She deserves it Jasper!" rage was all Quinn could see, it didn't matter as Maddison scampered in fear, trying to get away from the girl who she had always only known as calm and kind.

"Quinn, it's not her that you want to punish for this. Okay? It's Jensen, this is all Jensen's fault so don't take it out on some pathetic jealous girl. She'll get what's coming for her, eventually. But you don't want to look back on this moment and regret the way you acted." his voice was calm and she knew that it was her choice at that moment. If Quinn wanted to beat Maddison to a pulp in the highschool hallway, Jasper wouldn't do anything to stop her. But he knew that she didn't actually want to hurt the brunette.

After a long moment of contemplation, Quinn allowed her to drop to the floor in a heap of brunette hair and tears.

"I'll sort this out" Alice promised, her voice sincere as she arrived and as Quinn looked into her stunning gold eyes, she didn't see anger there. Alice completely understood and she was going to make sure that Maddison Grey never breathed a word of it to anyone. "I'll see you at home, Quinn"

"Come on Quinn, let's go" Jasper urged, slinging an arm casually over her shoulder as they walked along, urging her to go faster through the corridors and down the front steps into the parking lot. When they finally reached Rosalie's car, he held the passenger door for her and helped her in without a word. In the next second, they were driving along and Jasper's face was completely calm, even when Quinn eventually broke down and began to sob.

"I could've hurt her Jasper, she's just a pathetic girl who thinks she's something special for sleeping with an older, rich guy. And I so wanted to hurt her, to see her feel the way I feel. I just want someone to pay for this. I just want to feel like there's been some justice." she spoke the words carefully but she knew that Jasper wasn't going to judge her.

"Quinn, when I was turned, I was manipulated by two women. They destroyed me, the young ambitious major that I had been. They turned me into a monster, made me to kill and to teach others to kill. For years, and when it was all said and done, I was angry... I had so much anger but it doesn't matter how many people you hurt in an attempt to find some justice. Because it's not going to help. You could kill Jensen Hargreaves and it would make no difference because it's not about the things you do, it's about the way you feel. You don't want to be a monster Quinn, hurting people is only going to make you feel worse. And holding on to your anger is going to stop you from moving past this. You deserve so much more than your past has created for you... We all did. And we've all accepted our pasts, looking forward to the future... Because we had one another's help to do so."
