What Did The Doctor Say?

Tommy wasn't alert enough to really tune into the doctor's conversation. He felt a poke as something went into his arm and another when his other arm was poked. His brain told him he was getting fluids but he didn't comprehend.

About two hours later his head began to  clear enough for him to focus. The first thing he saw was a pair of chocolate brown eyes looking at him. "P-P-Paul?" he whispered. ""W-w-where?"

"You had to be rushed to the hospital. You're hooked up to fluids which you're in severe need of." "You're underweight and dehydrated." "Are you eating? Drinking plenty of fluids?"

"M-m-morning sickness. C-c-can't keep much down." stammered Tommy. "Is  Mady okay?"

"So far. They haven't done much testing on her yet." "Are you feeling better? I thought I lost you for awhile." Paul paused to wipe his eyes. "I-I-I was scared."

Tommy reached out to squeeze Paul's hand. "I won't leave you."

Paul laid on the bed with Tommy until he nearly rolled off. "Damn! Narrow ass beds!"

"More like fat ass lead singer!" smirked Gene from the doorway. He was flipped off.

Eric came in carrying Aurora while Gene had Taylor and Hannah. Bruce was holding Draco and Pat had Delilah.

Tommy wanted to hold his girls so Paul laid them in his arms one by one. Taylor chewed on his finger. Aurora kept drooling and Hannah had a tooth visible. She also had more hair than the others. Her hair was super curly already. Draco had a full head of hair while Delilah barely had enough to cover her head.

The babies in Tommy's arms slept soundly on his stomach, content to be near their soon-to-be-coming sister. At five months he was slightly bigger than he had been at three. He soon drifted off to sleep when the medicine began to work. Paul and Bruce bundled up the babies and headed out. Gene mumbled about Draco weighing as much as a basket of watermelons.

Paul came back later to check on Tommy. His husband was still sleeping so he sat beside his bed and held his hand. "I love you Tommy. Please don't ever leave me. I know I screwed up but I can't lose you." He didn't know if Tommy heard him or not.

Laying kisses on Tommy, Paul left a box on the bedside table.
