When Tommy came back into the bedroom, Paul was in the process of getting dressed. "Paul? Was that Gene? What in the hell did he want?"
"To ask us to dinner. Why he can't call like a normal human is beyond me."
Tommy wondered why Gene was suddenly interested in hanging out. Were he and Eric having trouble? Tommy pulled on his clothes rather aggressively, leaving Paul in the bedroom when he walked downstairs. Slamming the kitchen door shut, he yanked open the refrigerator door and slammed it shut again. He went to open the cabinet but was stopped by a hand on his wrist.
"Tom, calm down baby. I can promise you he's just being a pain in the ass." "Please don't break the doors." "Why are you upset?"
"Is he trying to get with you? All of a sudden it's Gene calling to go to dinner, Gene wanting to go here, Gene wanting to go here!"
"Sh, sh. It's okay, baby. Nothing like that is going on." "Hey, what's really wrong?'
Tommy folded himself into Paul's arms, not wanting to admit he was jealous. He had always known he couldn't be Paul's best friend and it hurt. He felt like an outsider with a wedding ring on his finger.
"Hey, hey. Let's order dinner in and watch a movie."
"No! Am I embarrassing to be seen with?" "We hardly ever go out anywhere!" "I wear your ring! Not Gene Simmons-all powerful Demon and bass player! Me!"
Paul had no idea what had brought this sudden tantrum on. The last time Tommy had acted moody was when he was pregnant with Mady. Just holding Tommy was all Paul could do. "Baby, look at me. Please."
Tommy wouldn't budge from his spot. "No." he mumbled.
"Do you want me to get someone to stay with the girls? We'll go out to dinner and whatever else you want to do." "Tom, are you jealous?"
"Yes." "You two act more like you're married." "He's going to take you away from me."
"No, he won't. Eric and Gene love each other very much."
Tommy finally agreed to go clean up and go out to dinner.
