Paul was happy Tommy was starting to feel better but he was also concerned. His husband now wanted to be on the golf course almost every waking hour. He missed Tommy and wanted him to stay home.
On the rare morning Tommy stayed home, Paul found him in the kitchen drinking coffee. "Oh Paul! I'm leaving tomorrow! I'll be gone for a week!"
"What???!!" exclaimed Paul, nearly choking on his coffee. "Where are you going? Are you well enough?" "Are you going to be staying somewhere?" "Are you leaving me?"
"Relax, baby. I've been invited to play in a golf tournament in Utah. We'll be staying at the Marriott in Salt Lake City until Sunday." As to the second question, I hope so and no to the last question."
"Tom, I want to go with you." "We could room together."
"Paul, you don't play golf and I don't think Sammy would feel comfortable with another roommate."
"Sammy? Does he not like guys?"
"Um.....she doesn't want any distractions." mumbled Tommy, looking at the floor.
"SHE! SHE!?" Paul cried, looking at Tommy. "YOU'RE ROOMING WITH A FEMALE!?"
Tommy looked at Paul in disbelief. "You're actually questioning me? I don't believe this!" "I'm not answering to you."
Tommy left in a state of shock and disbelief. He was now upset and mad." You know what! I'm heading out today!" He slammed the bedroom door in Paul's face and locked it. Bursting into angry tears, he threw his suitcase and its contents across the room. The suitcase shattered several of Paul's collectible knickknacks, his lamp and the window. Tommy had locked himself in the bathroom at the sound of the first shatter.
Paul had been searching for the spare set of keys when he heard the glass breaking. "Damn!"
Running upstairs, Paul got the keys in and opened the door. He saw the broken glass every where and heard the sound of crying. "Tom? I'm sorry, baby. Let me in, please."
                              "No! Go away!"
Paul backed away and started picking up glass. He left a note on top of Tommy's suitcase after re-packing it. "I'm going to go downstairs and make dinner. I'm sorry."
Tommy had unlocked the bathroom door and was now asleep on the bed. His eyes were red from crying.
