While Tommy was sleeping, Paul carefully looked his body over for fresh cuts and wounds. He knew Tommy was possibly sick from the ulcer but he also suspected he was cutting again.
Just as Paul went to check on Tommy's stomach he noticed the small but very infected cut on his side. "Damn it Thomas!" swore Paul under his breath. He headed to the bathroom for the first aid kit.
After gently washing the surrounding skin, Paul dabbed peroxide on both ends of the cut before rubbing it into the cut. When it started stinging, Tommy opened his eyes. "I'm doctoring the cut on your side." "It's very infected."
As the cut started oozing, Tommy turned pale. "It hurts!"
"I know, it's oozing pus."
Finally the stinging subsided and Paul was able to doctor it. "Be careful of it for a few days." He kissed Tommy and had him go back to sleep. Paul didn't see any more cuts or wounds so he guessed Tommy had eased up on the cutting.
After awhile, Tommy woke up and found Paul frowning over him. "Babe?" he asked confused.
"I found these in the bathroom." said Paul, holding up a box of pregnancy tests and condoms.
"I bought them hoping....." Tommy trailed off. "The condoms are for when we have sex again because you don't want any more right now."
"Oh baby, I do want more. I just want you to wait awhile. Will you try and do that?"
Reluctantly, Tommy nodded as Paul pulled him into a hug.
