I'll Fight Hell to Hold You

Christmas Surprise

Tommy had tried his best to stay cheerful for the girls. He even managed to put up a Christmas tree for them. When Paul came home later, the five of them were covered in tinsel and tangled in lights. The only thing Tommy had managed to do was get the tree set up. Paul just started laughing as he untangled the lights. 

Tommy held each of them to hang ornaments as Paul finished the lights. Together the six of them put the star on top. "Wait! Why does that look like Starchild?!" asked Tommy when he looked up. "Paul!"

"What can I say?" grinned Paul. "After all, I am a star!" He and Tommy had come to terms with the fact there would be no more children. Tommy was still extremely sad but he was hiding it well. 

Later that night Tommy was in the shower when he noticed his stomach was rounder. "What?" "I can't be!" He had several tests left so he took one and finished the shower. He hoped he could give a positive test to Paul. "It would be a better birthday present." he said to himself.

When Tommy finished his shower, he looked at the test after putting on his glasses. "I am! Oh my God!" He quickly hid the test as he heard Paul call his name. "Tom?" 

"I'm fine!" he called back. "Just finishing my shower."

Getting dressed, Tommy quickly shoved the pregnancy test in his pocket and headed downstairs. Paul had been stringing lights on the windows and doorframe. Mady was fascinated with them. Her eyes sparkled brightly. Aurora and Hannah were "making" cookies while Taylor was sorting bows.

"Tom, are you feeling better?" 

"Yes, in fact I am." Tommy kissed his husband and wrapped his arms around him. "I'm fine."

Tommy hoped nothing went wrong. He swore he wouldn't tell Paul until his birthday.
