Gene had offered to drive from their home in L.A. to San Diego where Eric would take over. They left around six so the kids could sleep. Eric, being pregnant, alternated between eating and sleep. He finally fell asleep around eight. Gene sighed but kept driving. When he reached San Diego, he pulled over to rest. Shaking Eric awake, he handed him the keys.
"Baby, I need sleep too. There's a little hotel just around the corner. Let's just stay there tonight." replied Eric.
Gene agreed and pulled into the parking lot. Going inside, he paid for a room and came back to get the others. The babies slept as Gene laid them down. Eric covered them up as Gene took a quick shower. Eric followed suit. All five of them were asleep by midnight.
The next morning, after a decent breakfast, Eric drove. By mid day they were in Arizona and checking in to the hotel. Delilah and Jenny wanted to go swimming while Jason was infatuated with a road side museum. Eric took the girls swimming while Gene took Jason. Later they switched off.
Dinner found them having a picnic outside by a huge tree. The girls had their newly purchased dolls with them. Jason had a huge stuffed eagle. Gene had brought Draco a stuffed animal after face timing him so he could see the items. He also brought the girls and Paul and Tommy something. Eric had in new silver/turquoise earrings and a matching necklace. Gene was wearing new boots.
