I'll Fight Hell to Hold You

Tommy's First Session

Two days after Tommy got home, he had his first session. He was dropped off by Bruce who told him he'd stay with him. "I'll be out in the waiting room." 

"I can't do this." 

"Yes you can." 

Tommy was shown to a room and told to sit in the chair. He already wanted to go home. When the therapist came in, he was looking at the floor. "Welcome, Mr. Stanley-Thayer. Are you ready to get started?" 

"No. I don't think I can do this."

The therapist asked him simple questions for the first few minutes. Name,  age, a bit of background history, etc. When the questions started getting personal, Tommy freaked out. 

"What kind of relationship do you have with your husband? Good? Bad? Do you fight a lot?" 
"How did he react when he found out you cheated?" "Did he hit you? Did he yell? " "DID YOU ENJOY THE SENSATION OF CHEATING?"

Tommy burst into tears and refused to answer. Bruce ran in and took Tommy out. "I will be reporting you to the ethics board." said Bruce. "Come on Tom."

Tommy followed silently. When Bruce took him home, he went upstairs and locked the guest room door. Bruce had to tell Paul.

"What the hell?" cried Paul. He ran upstairs but couldn't get the door open. "Tom? Open up please." He knocked until his knuckles bled.

Tommy laid on the bed in a daze. He suddenly remembered he had a stash of pills in the spare bathroom.

Getting up, he walked around the room for quite awhile before heading to the bathroom. He could hear Paul banging on the door while Bruce tried to get him to open the door.

Just as he swallowed a handful, he spotted the open razor and grabbed it. The door splintered as Bruce finally kicked it in. Tommy had the razor in his hand, already opening another spot. his mind was cloudy from the pills by now. His arm was covered in blood and he was steadily opening a third spot. Bruce tackled him to the floor and wrestled the razor away while Paul called 911. 

The last thing Tommy remembered before passing out was the look in Paul's eyes.
