One More Time?

While Tommy slept, Paul thought about what Tommy had said. He wondered if it would be okay to try and create another baby so Tommy would be happy. Getting up, he headed to the kitchen to make a phone call. Luckily Tommy's doctor was available to talk for awhile.

"Tom so desperately wants another child, I know we should wait." "What is your advice?"

"Paul, as a doctor, I wouldn't recommend any more children. When Tommy was pregnant, he had so many medical issues. IF you do impregnate him again, he'll probably go into labor early--very early."

After talking to Tommy's doctor for a few more minutes, Paul thanked her and hung up. It was going to be tough telling Tommy they probably wouldn't have any more children. Little did Paul know that Tommy had already had other plans.

"Paul, " said Tommy from the doorway, "I know the risks involved in having more children. I want to at least try. Please." "I know I'm probably being selfish but I'd like the chance to try."

Paul looked up and saw his husband's pleading eyes. "Tom, if you do ever get pregnant again, I could lose both you and the unborn child. I can't take that chance." "Get mad and upset all you want, but no."

"But, Paul. It's my decision too and I want another baby."

"No." said Paul walking towards his husband. He knew Tommy was upset when he walked away and didn't look at him.

Paul waited until the crying started before going into the bedroom. He was met with a positive pregnancy test and silence. Looking at it and looking back at Tommy, his mouth dropped open. "How far along?" he finally asked.

"Six weeks." came the whisper. "I've been trying to tell you. I'm sorry!" "Do...you...want...me to....to...to get rid of it?"

"NO!" "Oh baby, no." Just promise me you'll take extra care of yourself ad our new arrival."

"I will." replied Tommy, wiping his tears away. He let Paul hold him for a long time.

"We won't tell the others yet." promised Paul finally.

"Okay."

The two of them talked about a lot of things and made promises that Paul would be there more and that Tommy would be more open if he was hurting or anything.
